Swaddling

holley79 wrote: I just got to thinking of this. How long (months) do you swaddle a baby for? Has anyone swaddled an older infant and had sucess when swaddling as an infant they didn't like?

Our Lil' Family replied: I think we swaddled Thomas until he was about 3 or 4 months old, too long IMO. He did sleep better in it but he hated it and fought to go to sleep when he was in it. Looking back I should have quit alot sooner.

PrairieMom replied: We swaddled Ben until he was about 9 months or so. Just about when he started crawling. He LOVED it, and still likes to be "tight in the blanket"
Ally is 5 months old and we are still swaddeling her.

holley79 replied: I think Annika would totally resist me if I do it but I may give it a shot tonight if she beats me around with this sleep thing tonight.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner only liked to be swaddled for the first couple weeks. After that he never really cared for cuddling, swaddling, whatever. He liked to be in his bouncy chair. Til this day, the 4 year old is still not a cuddler, and probably never will be. sad.gif And he doesn't like covers either.

kimberley replied: my kids hated being swaddled but if i recall correctly Jen swaddled Jack forever happy.gif so cute! wub.gif

moped replied:
Yes I did - forever and a day actually......... tongue.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Lorelei HATED with a passion to be swaddled, so we never did. And Lexi LOVED to be swaddled, but only until she was about 4 week old. Then she said forget this crap. laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

kimberley replied:
LOL you have to post that pic of him all wrapped up! thumb.gif

holley79 replied:
How old was he Jen?

moped replied: http://forums.parentingclub.com/index.php?...8166&hl=swaddle

I think he was about a year - I bet he would still but that one night I forgot his swaddle blanket at inlaws and thought I would try him without - there is the pics above in the link

holley79 replied:
I decided I was going to try and swaddle Annika last night. She looked at me like I lost my mind and took the blanket back apart. emlaugh.gif Oh well, I got sleep last night so I'm not so worried. rolleyes.gif

wcs40110 replied: Dakota sleeps in a sllep sack. Thats what the Dr ordered to reduce sids. It makes her 'feel' swaddled but shes not. It'd take her feet away for the most part...
