Swatch watches - junk or Ebay worthy?
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: My dad cleaned out his garage and brought me about five boxes of my old stuff - things from HS, old photos...even notes I wrote to friends in junior high! It was SCARY to go through....like a huge unorganized scrapbook of your life! I seriously had a panic attack going through it all...but that's another story.
Anyhow, I found my old Swatch watch and I don't neccesarily want to keep it (I don't collect things)...but I'm wondering if it's a collector's item that may be worth something to someone else. Anyone know?? Or are you all too young to remember Swatch watches...haha..j/k!
Should I try to sell it on Ebay? Or toss it? Or hold onto it for...no good reason?
TheOaf66 replied: I would put it on e-bay, they were good watches back in the day and quite popular unless you want it for sentimental reasons or something
Mommy2Isabella replied: swatch watches are definetly Ebay worthy ...
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I remember having a swatch watch...so they can't be too old
there were a bunch on e-bay (i just looked)
salmndr007 replied: I love a good swatch. I have had a couple and they were very good watches. Does it have any inscriptions on it as to what model it is...if so, then google search the model and find out what other people are selling it for...if not, then search for swatch on ebay and see if you see one and find out what the going price is
I would put it on ebay because I know a lot of people collect old swatches
mammag replied: I say give it a shot, what the heck? Good luck! That sure brought back memories!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Okay...I guess I'll give it a shot! I've never sold anything on Ebay, but DH has. It has a scratch, so not sure I'll get much...
BTW, if anyone is interested, it's the one that was really popular - red band with colored geometric shapes on the face!! Totally 80's!!!
J-rod replied: 1. whats a swatch watch?
2. put it on ebay.....do a no reserve...see what it goes for....if its too low have a friend bid on it....youll pay ebay fess but wont be giving the watch away.
holley79 replied: Are we that old we have to ask if people remember things? From what I remember, LOL, they were good watches. Check EBay and see if they ahve any listed. That's always a good indicator.
redchief replied: How do you think I feel? I grew up BS (before Swatch, of course). When I was growing up you had a good ol' Timex, you wound it by hand (though there were some neat self-winding watches, of which I had one). When the Casio electronic ones came out we thought they were the neatest things since sliced bread. You could hardly see the LED screen and the backlight almost washed it out, but it was space-aged, man!
C&K*s Mommie replied: I remember Swatch watches and the fad of wearing multiples at the same time, and the Casio electronic ones. Someone recently (cannot remember who now) wore/wears those. I think I was a little too young to really care about the fads back then, but I remember them.
Good luck with the bidding. It would cost next to nothing to list it, so what the heck, go for it!
TheOaf66 replied: i remember the old commercials...saying SWATCH in that robot like voice and it had the rubber thing over the glass
JP&KJMOM replied: I had the one that was clear and you could see at te insides that ran it. It was oh so cool back then.
BAC'sMom replied: I have not thought about those in years
MommyToAshley replied: Remember when?? Seems like yesterday... that either means I was out of style for a long time or I am getting old.
I say sell them on Ebay... anything will sell there.
gr33n3y3z replied: I had a few of them I still have one some place around here lol
