Swiffers - taken from another post

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I use the swiffer dry all the time! I love it for picking up all the cat and dog hair. I need to invest in one of those swiffer wetjets. The one that sparys cleaner onto your floor.
amynicole21 replied: We have all tile floors except in two of the bedrooms. The Swiffers are a Godsend!! Especially with 2 cats and a dog and a DH with allergies. I swear we pick up a whole cat's worth of fur every day!!
We also tried the swiffer wet, and while it was ok, we needed something more heavy-duty. We ended up getting the Hoover Floor Mate and cannot sing it's praises enough... it's $200 of the best dollars we ever spent
A&A'smommy replied: my mom bought it and it was WONDERFUL! So much easier than sweeping and mopping...although sometimes you have to sweep up what you cleaned up. I really liked it especially since i did all the cleaning and she has all hard wood floors. I think its totally worth it if most of your floors are bare!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I have it and love it. So much easier than a mop and bucket! If I had more tile or hard wood floors I would get the hover floor mate, but I can justify it for a few small floors...
paradisemommy replied: i have both and honestly..don't really like them..the wet jet just kinda scoots the dirt along and smears it other places and the spray kinda gets all over..
i use the regular swiffer more often but the bar, in my opinion, isn't the strongest and it bends...the dry pads i didn't like because when i saw it on tv - it showed how the pad was like a magnet to the dirt/dust/etc. but that's not how it turned out for me..i do like the wet pads though and that's what i end up using. i think if the bar itself came in one piece and wasn't so flexible that i would like it better...
my dh says i'm never satisfied though so maybe i'm not the right person to ask...seems like the consensus is that it's great!!!!
i definitely wouldn't waste my time though on the wet jet that's like $20...
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I have always liked Swiffers. We use them on our tile floors (instead of sweeping) It works so much faster and is a lot neater. I would like to have the swiffer wet, but we are getting a floor mate for Christmas!
kit_kats_mom replied: We have pergo floors in the entryway/hall and kitchen and tile in all of the bathrooms. The swiffer wet jet is a godsend for me. I love it.
supermom replied: We have started to re-model the whole house with Pergo flooring, so we bought the swiffer wet and it works great for us. Only problem is keeping Anders away from it. Since the spray button is battery operated, it doesn't take much to push the button. More than once I have left it for a sec to deal with Emily and come back to a great big puddle of cleaner in front of the swiffer.....LOL!!
OK, I am lost, what's a floor mate?
amynicole21 replied: The floor mate is sort of like a carpet steam cleaner but for hard floors. It vacuums up the dirt first, then you switch it to the "wet" function and it sprays cleaner, scrubs it in, then squeegies it back up. No more waiting for the floor to dry!!!! It was soooo worth the money ($200ish)!
You may have seen the commercial for it - A kangaroo jumps all around some lady's kitchen and leaves footprints, then an Australian guy comes in and says something like "I'll take care of that, Mate!" LOL!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: That stupid commercial drives me nuts! I'd kill for a hottie to come and clean MY floors.... lol
I have a cheap dollar store imitation of the Swiffer - and I use baby wipes as the swiffer sheets.... rofl
Works just as well!
amynicole21 replied: In a pinch, we've used dryer sheets in place of the dry swiffer pads!!!
