Swifter wet jet - Anyone have one?

msoulz wrote: I really love mine, but DH hates the smell of the solution. I have to say it seems the last 2 bottles have a stale beer smell to them. I thought the first one was just old so I got a second one and it too smells funky. I don't remember it smelling like that when I first got the thing.

I also just picked up the wet pads that go on the swifter sweeper and they smell like that too!! So now I will have to clean and air out the house before Dh gets home or he will think we have had a big party while he was at work. . . dry.gif

Now I haven't tried the antibacterial solution and I wonder if it smells different. Anyone tried both?

ZandersMama replied: i didnt like the wetjet because of the smell, but i LOVE the swiffer vacuum.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I get the walmart brand wet pads. I dont notice that they smell odd.

grandma replied: I LOVE mine!

Crystalina replied: I have one but never use it anymore because Evan thinks it's the best thing in the world and uses all my pads. I get tired of replacing them because he will throw one away before it's really dirty. I bought him a pack of generic pads and told him to make them last because that was it.

MommyToAshley replied: I have one and love it. But, DH doesn't like the smell either. I thought it was just my DH though because he doesn't like the smell of any cleaning product. I did notice that they had some new "swiffer juice" that smells like the citrus but I haven't tried it yet.

msoulz replied:
I will be on the lookout for Citrus juice and for the Walmart brand wet ones. Thanks all!!! hug.gif

jem0622 replied: I don't use the solution anymore. I do like the pads that are wet and you can clip them on the same mop. I'd still rather use my handy mop and bucket though! I can change the water 4-5 times and know I truly cleaned the floor!

Calimama replied: I love my Swiffer Wet Jet but I can't use it anymore. We have rock tile so it's not smooth and the wet jet just doesn't work on it.

mammag replied: I have one. I don't use it as much because I found a regular mop that I love.

What I did, because I didn't like the smell (or the cost for that matter), was that I used a big wrench to open the bottle and refilled it with my own Lavender cleaner. I never noticed a smell on the pads but I will tell you, once I was out of them and needed to do a quick clean up. It was when Keegan was in diapers still so I slappeed one of those on there. Worked better than the pads. But for some reason, only the generic diapers worked well. Huggies and Pampers don't. Bizarre I know....

Calimama replied:
Really? What brand is it? I can't stand my mop.. and I've tried 3 different ones. rolleyes.gif

mammag replied:
It's nothing fancy. Made by Libman and bought at Wally World. It's called the Wonder Mop...

Here is a link to it. I bought it because I was sick of the sponge mops and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for one. And the head is machine washable or you can replace it cheaply. I tried washing it and it actually worked... I was surprised.

Calimama replied:
Awesome, thanks!! thumb.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
I have a similar brand and love it.....I love just throwing it in the washing machine with some bleach.

My swiffer wet jet broke. The handle cracked. Before that I liked it for small jobs, but I still deep cleaned my floors once a week. I also put my own febreeze chemical in the container and If I was out of those pads I would use a wash cloth.

luvmykids replied: I prefer the antibac, but haven't noticed a funny smell with the other one. I like it for quick clean ups but still have to use my floor mate every few days.

mckayleesmom replied:
what is that?

MoonMama replied: We have hardwood floors (HATE those laugh.gif) and I LOVE my Swiffer Wet Jet. thumb.gif

luvmykids replied: It's a wet/dry vacuum. I love it because it has spinning brushes that get the grout pretty good and then it sucks up the dirty water and squeegies the floor dry right away thumb.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
I must have that...is that the actual name of the thing?

luvmykids replied:
Hoover floor mate is the full name. I couldn't live without mine, especially since the whole first floor is tile thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I have one of those and I have not ever used it.... wacko.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
I have one of those hoover floor mates....probably about 3 years old and my model sucks. I only used it about 3 times and decided it wasn't worth the hassle because I had to scrub the stuck on stuff first....

luvmykids replied:
I had to do that at first, but now that I use it so often nothing gets stuck that bad. If there is something really sticky, like a spill that didn't get wiped up right away blush.gif , I just prespray it with vinegar and it comes right up.
