TOS Violations - Will no longer be tolerated!

TLCDad wrote: It has been brought to my attention and situations I have seen myself that too many TOS violations have been made and I have let slide. I have already sent PMs today and actually have more to send out. But I just wanted to post a general message so everyone knows I can no longer let these violations slide. I am not talking about the serious violations like posting pictures that do not belong to you are anyting illegal, because those of course are immediate bans. I am talking about the violations of being rude or causing disruptions that cause others to not enjoy the website.

If you receive a warning from a mod. They are just doing their jobs that we ask them to do. And I think they are doing an excellent job of it. If you have a problem with someone, bring it to a mods attention or myself. If you have a problem with a mod or do not agree with them, then PM me. It is when I get too many complaints is when I have to start suspending accounts and trust me I do not enjoy doing that.

99% of the time this is not a problem at all. I just wanted to get this post out so that everyone knows that I am serious about this and suspensions will occur.

Thank you

Crystalina replied: I will admit that I only scanned the TOS's when I joined but I will definatley click on the link now and read them thouroughly just to make sure I'm on the up and up.

redchief replied: For everyone's information, I have added, at the bottom of my signature, a link to the Terms of Use page for Parenting Club. I thought this would be helpful since it may be difficult to recall the URL address.

Crystalina replied: Thank you Ed! If we can't find the link to TOS's we can alway find you. biggrin.gif

Ok, I have a question about this (sorry, this may not be why this thread was started but since it's here I might as well ask). This part right here....

Does that mean we can post links to other sites? Because awhile back I posted a link to a site and it was deleted with a pm saying we could not link to other sites. That's water under the bridge now but I'm just curiouse. It wasn't a news link either. I know those are posted alot as refrences but this was just another site that offered services. Now I can understand not advertising another parenting site but that's not what I mean.

Crystalina replied: Well the only thing it would have fallen under was this...

...but when I read that I take it as me personally selling or advertising something to benefit myself. Maybe I'm wrong. happy.gif

Edited because I don't know how to use my buttons. rolleyes.gif

redchief replied:
No, it is mainly designed to stop competitive sites from basically getting a freebie here. Parenting Club exists, in part, due to advertising revenues the administrators receive from paid advertising. Any links to sites that sell or offer similar services to those the advertisers offer could be detrimental to their continued advertising here.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Thank you Rod, Ed and Karen for the clarifications.

Thanks Rod for the final warning too.

TLCDad replied: Yes, Ed stated it perfectly. Posting a link to another site for information purposes that you do not own or benefit from in anyway is perfectly fine. We just do not allow links to sites that you own or finanically benefit from including affiliate links or websites that directly compete with us including other parenting related forums. Which is also consider spamming.

The statement in the TOS (Terms of Service/Use) page about links found on this website, is basically just a standard disclaimer saying that any links found anywhere on this website (not just the forums) is not part of and may not be endorsed by us in anyway and that following the link is your responsibility not ours.

MyLuvBugs replied:
ok....I'm now a little freaked out unsure.gif I posted a link to my ebay selling list sad.gif is that against #4 on the TOS?? unsure.gif If so, I'm sorry!!! I really didn't know. Like others said...I just skimmed the TOS last year when I joined. blush.gif

kimberley replied: for long term contributing members, it is okay to post the occasional ebay auction for yourself, as long as it isn't the only way you contribute to the community... which is obviously not the case here. i wouldn't be concerned.

MyLuvBugs replied:
Oh Thank Goodness!!! I was so worried that ya'll would kick me out for it. sad.gif And I like it here too much to leave. smile.gif hug.gif

TLCDad replied: Yes, sorry I should of mentioned that. We do allow the "occasional" ebay link to an item you are selling as long as you are a contributing member, which you definitely are. What I do not want to see is someone only posting ebay links or posting too many within reason or posting affiliated ebay links.

kimberley replied: i know this has been said before, but i think it's worth mentioning again...

no one is just suddenly banned unless they have posted fraudulent pictures or adult material. with minor violations, we will give warnings before any suspension occurs. so please don't think you could inadvertently make an error and will be immediately ousted. that's not how it works. the mods/ admin discuss the issues and deal with them as the need arises. wink.gif

CantWait replied: Understood thumb.gif

Crystalina replied:
Yet another question...sorry. What exactley is a "contributing member"? Is that a member who posts alot or do you mean financially? I ask because I notice a donation section and on some boards "donating members" get to do things others don't as a perk for donating. I just am not sure if that's what you mean or not.

And my link was also Ebay but it was more of a joke. Something nobody here I'm sure would buy. I just thought it was cute (more like bizzar) and posted the link.

kimberley replied: contributing in the sense that they post to the boards, not just advertise. tho it is nice to remember PC, especially during the holidays, it is not a requirement to donate. wink.gif
