Tanner told me the saddest story today - Death, sadness and alot of religon ment
TANNER'S MOM wrote: Tanner was telling me about Levi in his class today. He said Levi's mom died when she giving birth to him. She lived one day after having him. They took lots of pictures of her but she had tubes and Iv's Tanner said. Then Levi's dad couldn't stand losing his wife, so he took his own life.
He said that he now lived with his Aunt and Uncle. He said he goes to counceling every day at school.
Tanner asked some hard questions about death. I answered as best I could. He said it made him afraid to loose me. I told him God does not promise us forever, so we have to live for today.
I said that by living for today, we need to be as close as we ever can be. We need to be our best and reach our goals.
He said he understood.
But when we got home he did something I couldn't believe and it made me cry. He got a piece of paper and wrote Levi on it. He gave it to Brittany, whose Grandma is a pastor. He said Brittany will put Levi's name in your prayer box at church.
Oh I am telling you I was so touched. I was touched that he thought of a classmate like that. I was touched that he had faith that a piece of paper in a prayer box could ease some one's pain. I am truly touched by this.
I have the same faith Tanner does. I know God will answer that prayer and Levi will be touched if just in a small way.
luvmykids replied: I too believe a name on a piece of paper with faith behind it can make a difference. It's awesome that Tanner is so compassionate and thoughtful, but even more so that he has so much faith. And I will add Levi to my prayers too. What a sad story.
Edward's Mommy replied: You have such an amazing young man there! I you for a job well done! I'm so happy to hear one child put his faith in God to help another! Levi will be in my prayers!!
mom21kid2dogs replied: What a great son you've raised!!
holley79 replied: Tanner is such a wonderful young man. That is really tough for a adult to handle much less a child. I will also keep Levi in my prayers. You give Tanner a big ole hug for me.
MamaJAM replied: What a sweet, loving and thoughtful little man you have there.
We've dealt with some very tough questions about death with our youngest DD this year. In October - one of her best friends at school's father was killed. The entire class has rallied around this little boy...it's amazing to see how the little ones take care of each other -- it should be a lesson for all of us adults.
CAMSMOM1 replied: Mel, you did a wonderful job answering his questions. You said it better than I could have. Living each day to it's fullest. That's something we all need to hang on to. And not taking life for granted. Tanner has such a tender heart, full of compassion, love and faith. I believe his prayers for Levi will be answered. And I know Levi is blessed by having such a good friend to confide in, like Tanner.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh Mel-I will tell you what girl, that has me bawling! I believe that Tanner will see fruit of his faith in that piece of paper with Levi's name on it! I think THAT must be exactly what Jesus meant when he talked about faith moving mountians! That is an amazing story and a testament to how you have raised your children!
C&K*s Mommie replied: So very sincere of Tanner, what a sweetheart he is to do that. I will have to take example from him.
Abbie, I think you are right. That is faith moving mountains. Faith that GOd knows who Levi is, and what how his heart is aching- even when the others at the do not know but they will still lift his name up in prayer.
CantWait replied: Words can not express what is in my heart right now for both Levi, and Tanner. God Bless them both.
luvmykids replied: See what Tanners little act of faith has done? It has multiplied and now there are even more praying for Levi! I love to see faith in action ...
