TANNER'S MOM wrote: Well this was a long weekend and we had alot to do. It's Sunday night at 9:30 and the first time I have even got to look in...
But Tanner rode well. He had a good safe ride and placed third. Which in this kind of rodeo you can't complain about. He won a buckle etc
I was so proud!

DansMom replied: Wow, that sounds great! I'm such a yankee---the world of rodeos and ranches is something I've never experienced. I bet Tanner is pleased with his success!
TANNER'S MOM replied: Here Rodeo is a sport of traditon and family. My father rode, I rode, my Dh rode and my children ride. Whether it is barrel, poles or rought stock. We think the modern day cowboy is something people don't take serious anymore. But to us it's not about the clothes etc, but about the intergity, honesty and work ethic it takes to compete and earn the name cowboy.
All my children know what means to but your animals before yourself, to be selfless. They eat before we do..there health is important and they also dont eat for free. They earn there keep on the farm. The kids learn about life, death, breeding (as graphic as that sounds) birth..etc all from having this rodeo. You are actually competing against yourself..your last score your best time etc. It is great lesson in life. And I am proud to learn it.
My Dh and I said some words at our wedding ( which was at the courthouse) to each other ANd this is what I said..
Lets hitch our dreams together, and raise a couple little cowboys and cowboy girls to know that God made the sunsets of the world.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Thank you guys for the congrats! I wish you could've seen his face!
texasp3 replied: I wish I could have seen his ride! That's awesome that he did so well AND kept it safe!!
moped replied: WTG Tanner!!!!!
That must be stressful for mommy to watch!
TANNER'S MOM replied: Mom does get pretty excited. It's one of those turn your head..no what I have to watch...squint my eyes tight...no what I can't see.
But it is the same when they are on horse back and the horse is acting up!
And they say it is the same way for them when Mom is running a horse..or training a horse..they get that nervous thing!
