Tanner's Letter Home

Boo&BugsMom wrote: I hope you all can read this. At Tanner's school, the kids get 3 strikes then they are "out" kind of thing. Once they get 3 warnings they lose something then they have to write a note home to mom and dad about what they did that was naughty. I think it's a good idea, it puts the responsibility back on the child plus it really enforces writing. Well, Tanner had to write a note last week. mad.gif I was NOT thrilled. He then had to spend the night up in his room...the punishment he knew would come. I was however very proud of how he wrote the letter though...LOL! laugh.gif This is what it actually says:
Dear Mom, I been running at school and ignoring Mrs. C*** directions. Benjamin and me will not do it again (they were wrestling and fighting).

julesmom replied: That is really good! He has a good grasp on letter sounds. My dd is in K, a month younger then yours. She is no where near as good as that!

BAC'sMom replied: CUTE rolling_smile.gif

lisar replied: I love that idea. I have made Lexi write her teachers a letter of apology before when she was bad,

luvmykids replied: SO cute wub.gif The twins are having to do things like that, write the way it sounds even if it's not correct. I'm loving it laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: SO CUTE!!!! laugh.gif He did a REALLY good job!!! thumb.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Super Cute --- that's definitely something to save! wub.gif

Ashley has some creative spelling too, but they do spell it like it sounds. And, it's hard to explain to a 5-year old that is a stickler for the rules, why our language doesn't follow it's own rules.

Calimama replied: I like that idea! I agree you should save it!

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I know, the English language is so weird. It's hard to explain it correctly to them sometimes, then he looks at me like I'm totally nuts. He doesn't understand that "ducks" is not spelled "dux". sleep.gif laugh.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: laugh.gif I think that's a great idea to have the child write a letter. I'm sorry I have to laugh that letter is too funny!
