Tara, I'm sorry to inform you
Danalana wrote: BUT, after much research (and by "research", I mean "looking"), I have concluded that your name backwards spells "a rat"
PrairieMom replied: congrats! You finally figured out what everyone in my 3rd grade class did! OH! the scares of childhood!.....
Danalana replied: Awwww, sorry kid! How do you think people treated me with Wilbur?
cameragirl21 replied: don't feel bad, people chide me by calling me JenniFUR and you all know how I feel about fur and meat.... I always in turn say it's Jennifleur, because fleur means flower in French and I'm all about nature and gardening.
PrairieMom replied: your name was wilbur? Yeah, I can see how that would be tough. Kids suck.
PrairieMom replied: I consider my self darn lucky. I am named after The plantation in gone with the wind, it was my mom's favorite movie. I was scary close to being called Scarlett. I'll gladly take Tara over that! Although in college I took to spelling it Terra.
Danalana replied: Hehe, that wasn't my nickname. It's what one of my friends recently nicknamed my smaller hand...you know, the runt of the litter?
PrairieMom replied: nice.
A&A'smommy replied: Tara I LOVE your name and I LOVE the fact that you were named after the plantataion on Gone With The Wind its one of my favorite movies
I'm sorry kids called you that I will never understand how innocent children can learn to be so mean
Boo&BugsMom replied: You guys don't have anything up on me. My maiden name was "Eckdahl"...it is Swedish. My BEST friend use to call me "Erectdall". But that's ok...her last name was "Schwenk", so I use to call her "Schwenk-off". Now both our last names are so plain you can't even come up with anything creative, but that's ok.
Our Lil' Family replied: Could be worse, mine is imoan
PrairieMom replied:
Danalana replied: I love it!
Celestrina replied: Someone pointed out to us that DS's first and last initials are BM. The initials for his first and middle names are BJ. We never thought about that when we named him.
Crystalina replied:
For obvious reasons DH is dead set on not naming this baby Jack. We call it Jack-Jack now and I really wanted to name it Jack if it were a boy since the kids have already latched on to that name.
Between DH and my sister coming up with a long list of "Jack" sayings it may not happen.
lisar replied: I got yall all beat. My Grandmothers maiden name is Horney. Image that one growing up.
stella6979 replied: LOL! That is pretty funny. A friend of mine has the last name Ball and her Grandfather's name was Harry.
Boo&BugsMom replied:
I knew a guy with the last name Popendick. If you're out there man, I apologize. Poor guy.
Boo&BugsMom replied: That seems to be a popular name lately. I know three little Jacks now, and more seem to keep coming. By the time he's born, there will be so many that you wont have to worry...strength in numbers.
Crystalina replied: I know, that's what I say also. I love the name and it's my first pick for a boy. I like it because it's nice and strong and "old" at the same time.
stella6979 replied: I LOVE the name Jack and would totally name our boy that, but Jeff is already set on a name that I've grown to like it too. Have you guys thrown any other names out there?
Crystalina replied: No, not for a boy.
For a girl we've decided on Gabriella Mercedes.
stella6979 replied: Very pretty!
Crystalina replied: Well, we aren't sure whether it should be Gabriella or Gabriell. We're thinking maybe with Izabell"a" then Gabriell"a" may be a bit much "a".
The Mercedes is after my grandmother who recently passed away.
DillsMommy replied: I know someone with the last name Morehead.....
My2Beauties replied: I have the worst, where I used to work there was a lady named
Gay Flower
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Mine is EAR. Don't feel bad.
kit_kats_mom replied: Faginal Dickey
That's all I'm saying.
BAC'sMom replied: Try growing up with a boy’s name
Boo&BugsMom replied: We have a Morehead College and a medical clinic called it as well.
Teesa®© replied: I have you all beat. My Mother's is from the Netherlands and if you translate one of her brothers' name into English... well, I have an Uncle F***
Thank goodness he's never visited because I don't think I could ever LOOK at him, let alone TALK to him, without cracking up and peeing myself!!!
Crystalina replied:
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I absolutely love the name Jack! Would you name him John and call him Jack or just name him Jack ??? Jack, Ben and Sam -- my favorite boy names
Danalana replied: We're huge football fans...I forget which team he plays for, but one of the players' (in COLLEGE, poor guy!!) last names was "Fagg". I felt so bad for him!
cameragirl21 replied: well, one of the guys in a Russian/English class (where people from Russia learn English here in the states) has a Russian name that should translate into Simon in English but for some reason he chose Semen. My gym teacher in elementary school was called Mr. Seamen too. I think I can top them all, though...on a photographers' forum I frequent, we were all talking about the babies we photograph and who has the weirdest name, as some parents are giving their kids rather weird names these days. One photographer also works as a neonatal nurse and said one of the moms named her daughter Chlamydia. Oh, and one of the photogs said she grew up in a town where a family had two kids who were named Groovy Nipples (daughter) and Freakus Poleakus (son). She said she heard Groovy died of a liver issue related to her drinking problem, go figure. I really think some parents should just get shaken up a bit if they choose to name their kids after an STD or give them a name like Groovy Nipples, I think this is a form of child abuse, seriously.
PrairieMom replied: One of my friends growing up named her baby Injustice. Poor kid. Working in a hospital I see TONS of really bad and stupid names.
One name I have been seeing all over the place, which really isn't that bad, but It drives me completely insane is Nevaeh. I can't stand it! It's "heaven" spelled backwards. What ever. Its fine, but personally it makes me want to
Danalana replied: Oh dear.
cameragirl21 replied: Nevaeh is very common among new babies and what cracks me up is every parent thinks they are being so original and yet it is now so commonplace. I don't care for Nevaeh but I love the name Acacia and that too is a little odd.
PrairieMom replied: I have a friend of a friend who named her girls India and Asia. A little strange, but I like them both.
Celestrina replied: Lets not forget the baby in Sweden named Metallica (click for link)
Boo&BugsMom replied: We have someone around here who did the same thing.
