Teething Question

Mommy2BAK wrote: Hey Everyone! wavey.gif

For the last 4 days Blakely has been extremely fussy and drooling more than usual and trying to chew on everything (everything but her teething ring, LOL). So I presume that she must be teething. I have been dreading this. bawling.gif So what do you suggest? I do have some baby orejel that I have used and that seems to help a little. But does anyone have any unique remedies that they used *that worked*. Please let me know.

jdkjd replied: We found motrin or tylenol before bedtime helped and teething tabs if Kiera or Bailey were fussy during the night...

A&A'smommy replied: I definitely don't recommend baby oragel.... When Alyssa was that age I would pour nursery water on a wash cloth (hers) and put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes then I would give it too her she LOVED it. Also try Hyland teething tablets along with some baby Tylenol or baby Motrin depends on what works better for her, or you

Mommy2BAK replied:
Oh ok, thanks for the warning about the baby orejel. I will try that nusery water and the other suggestions. Thanks. By the way I have seen that water, what is so special about it?

A&A'smommy replied:
Nursery Water

Its just better for them than tap water and easier than boiling water lol

mckayleesmom replied: I bow down and kiss the feet of the person who invented the hyland teething tabs....Mckaylee hated oragel and all that. I love the warning on the back of the teething tabs too...Warning, may cause child to fall asleep cause the pain is gone.....lol..I took that warning as a promise rolleyes.gif

ediep replied: yup, we used hylabds teething tablets and tylenol or motrin at bedtime to give us a few hours of peace

A&A'smommy replied:
rolling_smile.gif LOLOL I love that too I think its too funny! rolling_smile.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: Alright~ I just got back from the store and I bought those Hyland teething tablets and some Nursery Water. I gave her 2 of those tablets and She is sucking on a washcloth with that water on it. Thank You all SOOO much for your helpful suggestions. You all are GREAT! wub.gif

bucky replied: Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with baby orajel? We've been using it here and there and it's worked pretty well.. especially the few times he woke up screaming.

He has about 5 teeth coming in at once and is doing well and hasn't woken up in the middle of the night in a few weeks.

A&A'smommy replied:
Its more of a personally choice, I just don't trust anything that is going to numb a part of my baby when there are other alternatives that work great!

Mommy2BAK replied:
I was talking to my aunt the other day about this and she said that when my cousin was teething she used baby orejel and my cousin got some on her tounge and she bit the end of her tounge OFF! ohmy.gif

mummy2girls replied: Also about the oregel.. I heard that they can swallow it and then numb the throat and thats a little dangerous! Teething tablets working wonderful for jenna. My SIL was going througha rough time with her girl so i recommened them and she was thanking me because they worked for her!!!!

A&A'smommy replied: those are the main two reasons why I don't use it... babies are TOO young to have their little mouths numbed
