Thanks Everyone - - Mover Situation Resolved

mom2my2cuties wrote: Thanks for your suggestions everyone -

We have gotten my Father In Law to meet the movers at the storage unit and deliver the funds only AFTER they place the stuff back in storage. He is also going to video tape everything going in so I can match it up to my pictures of it initially to see if they used any packing materials and to make sure that nothing is missing or damaged.

luvmykids replied: Sorry it has been such a bad experience, but I'm glad you'll at least have your stuff back hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I personally...would cancel the check after they get it....Let them take you to court and explain why they have phoney listings and such.

mom2my2cuties replied: No i'm not cancelling the checks, that would make me no better than them.

I think my husband put it well to them -

David,

I don't know what was said between you and my wife yesterday, I was not there and I wasn't on the phone. From what I understand you both probably said somethings you shouldn't have. I am sure I will get 2 different stories. But what I do know is that right now I have $1,100 in cash in my pocket because I had to go and cash out the money orders I had for Quality Moving Systems yesterday. What I also know is that at this point in time, you do not know who has our stuff, or how to contact them. I also know that according to the Dallas County D.A.'s office, that can be construed as theft, and they are willing to investigate further if need be.

Since you are CLEARLY running a shady operation (We have talked to the BBB, as well as found several court cases against you.). I have absolutely no reason to believe you can even deliver our stuff at this time. So here is what I am going to do. I am going to send my father the $1, 100.00. You will figure out how to contact your people in Dallas, and you will make arrangements for them to deliver our stuff on a Saturday to the storage building where it was picked up at.

I will have my father meet your people at the storage building, he will verify that they have everything, once that is done, he will pay them the $1,100 and they will put our items back in storage.

If this isn't acceptable, then you can take one of two choices, delivery our belongings here, as agreed for the $2,000, or I will call the D.A. back today, and make it my personal mission in life to ensure that you are put out of business so you can not do this to anyone else; and let me assure you of something, hell hath no fury like the wrath of a woman, especially that of a woman who you are holding the only pictures and belongs of a son she can never get or see again.

mckayleesmom replied: I think you would have every right to cancel the check...that is blackmail.

mom2my2cuties replied: Of course, cancelling a check wouldn't do any good anyway - they only take cash or money order. No check and no credit card.

ETA - I keep saying check when I mean money order. Just so used to saying check.

CantWait replied: Well I'm glad it's somewhat resolved. Too bad they get what they want anyway. $1100 for doing nothing but causing trouble.

My2Beauties replied: Sorry to hear you guys even have to pay them $1100, that stinks. I love your DH's letter especially that last sentence! LOL!

J-rod replied: i would still file a complaint with the DA...let the DA sort it out...also make sure you yourself file with the BBB.

mom2my2cuties replied:
He is a pretty good letter writer when he is ticked. And honestly, when I get mad, it even tends to scare him. Because while I would never hurt a fly, I certainly do a lot of screaming.

We are filing a complaint with the BBB & letting the DA's office deal with them.

redchief replied: I'd take all of your evidence, go to city hall and file a small claims suit against them for the return of your money. You received no service, and therefore should pay for what you received.... NOTHING.

mom2my2cuties replied: Well i kind of think that we would be out of luck on in small claims - they claim that is not only for packing materials but the cancellation fee. Although - we never signed a contract and were not made aware of any cancellation fee. We were actually never even sent a contract they were supposed to fax it before they picked up the stuff and never did.

mummy2girls replied: Then you could sue and win because what proof do they have to win?

mom2my2cuties replied: Perhaps...I am sort of stuck in a I want to do the right thing place and a not knowing what the right thing is.

On one hand I will have my sons pictures and stuff like that back, which is more important than anything and I know they did take the stuff out of storage and will have to put it back and while they changed thier rate on us and did the number with the packing supplies - it doesn't seem fair of me to expect them to work for free. However on the other hand, I feel throughly screwed and would love to stick my size 12s up someones tooshie.
