That was sweet of my neighbor
mckayleesmom wrote: The new neighbor with the kids just knocked on my door. She had a bunch of brand new shoes for Mckaylee. She said she has about 70 brand new outfits she will be bringing over for her and She dropped off a bunch of really nice books for the kids...including like 7 of the I Wonder Why series of books.
That was really nice of her. Her daughters are a couple years older then Mckaylee and she bought them a bunch of stuff one year and when they were moving she put a bunch of stuff in storage and forgot about it....Her girls are alot bigger in stature then Mckaylee...Her 6 year old has bigger feet them me . So she brought it here. They wear uniforms for school....so all their stuff stays pretty new looking.
Calimama replied: That's awesome!!!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That's wonderful! Mckaylee will really enjoy all the shoes and clothes.
redchief replied: That's awesome! It's good to see that there are still people who care about those in their communities today!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Oh how nice! When Andrew was a baby one of my neighbors brought over a bag of baby clothes that she didn't need anymore.
MoonMama replied: Awesome, that was really nice of her.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: That is so cool!!
All of Abby's stuff is hand-me-down's. We really lucked out having two nieces so close to her age and all born the same time of year.
I pass along all of Sammy's stuff and Abby's, too. Its crazy not to -- with the way they grow so quickly and all. I will say, though,,,, the older they get,,, the harder they are on their clothes. I still pass the majority of it on, though.
mckayleesmom replied: I love Hand me downs too......I have sisters with older kids too. My niece Ashlynn is 6 and Peyton is 4.....So they are at just the right pass them on age. My sister is an over shopper too.....so lots still have tags. Peytons are virtually brand new because he doesn't walk or play like normal little boys because he has disabilities. I also have a nephew my mom raises and she sends me his stuff....He is just turning 6 in August.
I usually luck out and don't have to buy clothes very often.
Also...as you can see in pictures, Mckaylee and Russell are pretty hard on clothes anyways....So I would rather only buy for special occasions. Russell is actually easier on clothes then Mckaylee is.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: omg - that is so weird because Abby is harder on clothes than Sammy and she's younger than him, too. LOL Sammy doesnt hardly get any hand-me-downs (unfortunately) but since all of Abby's wardrobe has been given to her/us, I dont mind splurging on a special dress she'll only wear once or twice -- like Christmas/bday.
Its funny, though..my two nieces that are giving their clothes to Abby --- they are very tall and slender. Abby is very small and petite,,, she has the shortest little legs,, so we have to roll at the waist alot. She's so darn cute, though. LOL
Works out great for us, though. Abby is going to be 2 in June and I have clothes all the way up to a size 5 washed and hanging in her closet.
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee is really short and little too....Most kids her age tower over her. She has a cousin that is 2 months older then her and has like a foot on her. Im only 5ft1 though.....so she didn't have much to work with. Russell is almost the same height as her and he takes after my husband...so Im sure he will be taller then her in a few months.
coasterqueen replied: That's awesome, Brianne. I wish I knew someone to do that for me. I just spent over $300 on clothes for the girls. I'm always giving away clothes, but never receive any.
mckayleesmom replied: I have the opposite problem...I never have anyone to give them to for Russell's....Mckaylee's I give to my niece, but she is pretty hard on clothes..so there usually isn't much.
A&A'smommy replied: WOW thats awesome!!!!!!
My2Beauties replied: Isn't that so nice when people do things like that. My MIL's friend recently gave me 4 bags full of clothes (for me, Hanna and Des), lots of them I couldn't fit or didn't like but she said I could do whatever I wanted with them so I plan on sending them to goodwill but there were tons for Hanna, lots of summer stuff, so that is so nice to know Hanna is ready for summer. Hanna is really hard on clothes.
