That went very well - dentist
ammommy wrote: I took the kids to the dentist today and they did great. I'm a bad mom, but this is the first for both of them I tried with Alec when he was 2, but it was such a horrible experience (they tried to put him in a straight jacket) that I was afraid to try again. Anywhoo...I love this dentist. He is great with kids. Alec told him that he was scared and Dr. Bozic talked him through it. No cavities, great gums, yeah mom! One funny thing, though. The Doc told them that the toothpaste was bubble gum flavor and Alec asked him "what's bubble gum?" The doc looked at me and I told him that they've never had it. He gave me a I'm hoping that April's appt will be just as good.

3_call_me_mama replied: WTG on the no cavaties adn everythign else! Cameron had his first visit in August adn he did awsome I was all worried for nothing:) Keep them OFF gum for as long as you can Casue they get addicted like you wouldn't believe.
Kaitlin'smom replied: when do they go? and when do you start giving them floride toothpaste? Kait loves to brush her teeth but still does not quite get the hang of it so I have yet to switch.
WTG on the appointment and NO gum I have not let Kait have any either
ammommy replied: I switched the kids to floride toothpaste around 2. I monitor the toothpaste, so I'm not worried about them swallowing it. The dentist said it was OK, too. In theory, kids can see the dentist when the first teeth come in, but should definately be seen around 2. Megan has just started brushing her own teeth and I go over them again when she is done. Alec is pretty much on his own. I just double check to make sure all is well.
Kaitlin'smom replied: thanks well I will add her to our insurance and then set an appointment for her. I will have to find one good with kids, my dentist lacks personality he is good and does not scold just no personaltiy
ammommy replied: I'd go to a pediatric dentist. I got a referral from my ped that was 2nd'd and 3rd'd by friends.
six_kids_at_28 replied: Good job I went to the dentist a little while ago with my 3 older kids and my 6 yr old had a cavity That was painful As with the my kids are addicted! LOL. I will have to schedule the triplets appt soon....I usually start my kids w/ dentist around age 2...
MommyToAshley replied: Great Job!!!! Glad the visit went so well!
Ashley has never had bubble gum either. My Mom tried to give her some, and I told her that I didn't want her to have it. She tried to convince me to let her have it, but I stood my ground.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: WTG mom!
A&A'smommy replied: WOW good mommy!!!!
DansMom replied: WTG!! I've been putting the first dentist visit off too. I do know where I'll take him though, but I haven't made the appointment. I think I'll let him come to my next appointment first---that really worked with the haircut, letting him observe his dad and his cousin get haircuts.
Congratulations on no cavities, good gums!
