That's it. The girls are getting empty boxes & - recycled trash for Christmas
kit_kats_mom wrote: Seriously. Look at this. This is the girls' playroom. note the over abundance of purchased goods.
kit_kats_mom replied: And this is what Lauren has been amusing herself with all day. An old coke bottle with some almonds in it
coasterqueen replied: I hear ya sista! I was contemplating on what to get Kylie for Christmas and how I stress about it every year and then she doesn't get too excited about what she gets. DH replied that it's because she gets EVERYTHING. We really don't buy her much but the rest of the family go extremely overboard. She has an entire playroom of toys and she plays with a very minute few of them. I keep saying she's just getting clothes for Christmas but then I feel bad if I do that. Who would like Santa at her age if he just got her clothes.
But Kylie has always played with everything that's NOT really a toy and Megan is the same way.
ammommy replied: This is kind of lame, but I've considered re-wrapping some of the toys that they haven't played with much and regifting Last year, and this last birthday, Megan's favorite "gift" was a huge box that her play kitchen came in. Why do we spend $$?
kimberley replied: Cary, i can always count on you to have me giggling thru the day! thanks lol.
at our house, it is tupperware
5littleladies replied: Wow-I don't care how many toys they have-I'm just impressed with how neat their playroom is!!
We have wayyyy too many toys at our house too. I'm seriously contemplating getting rid of alot of them before Christmas.
ediep replied: me too!!!
thats cute!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: Well, I spent about an hour in there last night tidying it up but God forbid you open the closet, any of the doors on the kitchen or the toy box. It's ugly...really ugly. Maybe I should take a picture of it on a Sunday night so you can get the idea of how it usually looks.
I can't wait until Lauren starts outgrowing the toys. I want to purge so badly. Thing is, K has taken really good care of her toys and they are in like new condition. Lauren seems like she's going to be the one who trashes everything. All of K's board books were in perfect condition but now that they've been passed on to Lauren they are all slobberfied and torn up. Poor K. That would drive me NUTS if I was her.
amymom replied: This is exactly what I was thinking.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I know how you feel I dont realy buy her much but the rest of DH family LOVES to. I went through her room a few weeks ago and got rid of tons of things and she still has WAY to much. My other issue is she gets more 2-3 day later on her birthday. Thankfully this year I have already given to her her big birthday present so she will just get a small gifr form us but I really dunno where I will put anything.
coasterqueen replied: We sent some of our toys to kids down in Louisianna who lost all theirs. I think when we go through the toys again before Christmas (which Dh has made me promise we'll do ) - we'll probably send them that way since they need them more than Kylie and Megan do.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I plan on doing it again, I know there is more she does not play with or that I can just get rid of.
amynicole21 replied: LOL! That is so cute. Sophis's favorite toys are pennies... That'll be real fun when Nora starts crawling. Our floor is constantly littered with the darn things.
gr33n3y3z replied: lol think of all the money you will save
DansMom replied: that's hilarious, and so so true...
BTW, thanks for making my kid's room look like a total sty. No way will I be showing pictures...
chloe&tysmommy replied: LOL! they add up wayyy to fast...ITA!
I love the playroom, it's so clean !!....I wish I had a designated room for JUST the toys I could fill it
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I went thru the kids playroom a couple of months ago and got rid of SO many toys. No kid should have that many toys. I also have the dilemma of what to buy them for Christmas. They have everything and need nothing. I thought about just buying a swingset ( wooden fort type deal) as a combined gift.
A&A'smommy replied: LOL that is a kid for ya!!!
