The Boys 4th

PrairieMom wrote: we went back to my mom's home town for the 4th. We entered Ben in the kiddie parade. He is the 5th generation to be in it. This year he was an astronaut. We won 3rd place in the "original" catagory. 2 whole $ ! He was super excited for the parade before hand, but 1/2 way through the route decided that his legs were tired, so I had to carry him the rest of the way!

Here are DH and The Boy with our fireworks. We started out shooting off something that was noisy, and it scared the boy half to death, i think we ruined him for life! so we had to stick to mild things, here he is showing off his favorite kind, the snakes!

PrairieMom replied: I was just looking at me in the picture and thinking "wow, I'm huge!" I guess its because I am used to seeing myself at 35 pounds. I can see the wieght in my face and arms. I'm not even worried about my belly pooch yet.

The funny thing is that last year he was a choo choo. DH spent pver 80 hours making it, and close to $70 in supplies. He came in 2nd, and got $2.00. So, the difference between all that hard work and putting on last years halloween costume is um... nothing.

TheOaf66 replied: funny you should mention about the fireworks, We lit one off on Tanner's 1st fourth and it was a whistling fountain, never been the same since. To this day he doesn't like fireworks and hates anything like that if it makes noise, he wouldn't even hold a sparkler this year. So we may have truamatized him for life

Aww, he held the big sparklers though yesturday. As long as it doesn't make loud noises, he's ok. He likes the pretty ones that make lots of sparks and flying ones!

The astronaut costume is adorable!!! He looks so happy with his candy!
