The Most Hideous Outfit...EVER!

jenn3 wrote: Ok, lets say it is your child's birthday and their grandma buy them a gift. What's the gift, you might ask... Well it's the ugliest little outfit that you have ever seen and wouldn't let your child even wear out of the house! So now what do you do with this hideous outfit?

punkeemunkee'smom replied: MIL was really bad about buying halter top type outfits for Taylor-VERY hoochey looking clothes ohmy.gif -not on my baby!!! wacko.gif I always said it didn't fit! emlaugh.gif There will always be something that is too big or too small about it...too small is better-no hope of growing into it. Or if you want since it is from grandma take a pic in it and send it to her and that way nobody gets their feelings hurt.

mummy2girls replied: im actually pretty lucky because my mom has the same sense of toddler clothes like me:) sometimes she can buy cuter ones than myself:) my grandmother usually gives me money to get her clothes:)

but if it did happen maby it will find its way at the back of her closet and be forgotten until she cant fit it...LOL

Nathansmom replied: Take a pic, send it to grandma, then never, ever put it on my child again. biggrin.gif

Of course, I've never been one to be afraid of returning or exchanging...if I don't like it, it goes back.

beautifullychaotic replied: Me I would put it on my kid take a pic of it send it to G-Ma then bury it in the dresser.

kimberley replied: my mother does this ALL the time!!! rolleyes.gif i just donate it or sell it in a yard sale.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
Sounds like what I would do. But both my MILs and my mom do a great job of picking out cute clothes.

CantWait replied:
That's what I've done on a number of occasions rolleyes.gif

Nathansmom replied: It's the easiest way to make everyone happy...why hurt someone's feelings unnecessarily.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I tend to return. My mom seems to be the culprit of ugly outfits but she also knows it so doesn't get offended when we return for something less hiddeous

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I have to say that the only thing I've been ticked about parents getting ht ekids is a bikini type bathing suit for Emilie. It wasn't one of those midriff tops and shorts - it really was a bikini.

I threw it out, ranted to my mother...and when my MIL asked about it, I told her that I thought it was innapropriate for an 18 month old.

~KARA~ replied: Funny you posted this cause my dh's grandma just sent my son the most awful looking outfit. My dh told me I was not to put the baby in it at all. I put it in the tub of clothes to get rid of!

My mil and sil's use to do the same thing!! I told them after the 1st christmas that they werent to buy my kids clothes anymore. Mil cant even seem to buy them the right size anyways. growl.gif

luvbug00 replied:

ps. i love those little bikinies Mya had one since she was a year old. wub.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Both my MIL and my mom have great taste, so I've never had to worry. But DH's grandma (Wil's great grandma) knits sweaters and although I really like them, she always sends us pastel colors. We just got a light lavender one for Wil...come on, he's a boy! So it sits in the closet and will wait for a baby sister I guess. Otherwise I would probably give them away to good will.

My2Beauties replied: My mom and Brian's mom are pretty good about picking out clothes and stuff for Hanna but one time one of my mom's friends bought Hanna this little ugly outfit from a yard sale - OMG the thing was awful - so I gave it to goodwill blush.gif

jcc64 replied: C'mon, let's see it!

party-of-six replied: I agree with pp, we need to see said hideous outfit. tongue.gif Please share... tongue.gif

CantWait replied: Oh Ya, now that's everyone's mentioned it.....good idea....LET'S SEE IT
