The View---BF is a Hot Topic

One thing that was interesting was that Rosie O'Donnell was on the show as a co-host and stated that her partner nursed their child for one month (I think that was it) and Rosie made her stop (her words) because she wanted to bond with the baby and it "wasn't fair". hmmmm

That is awful what she said..........I knew I didn't like that woman! Unfair?! What about fairness for the baby? There are other ways for the SO to bond with baby. Many husbands have to find ways........ Ooh that makes me angry. I'm not against bottle feeding for some but her reasoning is just plain immature!

aspenblue1 replied: That comment is just stupid. I BF my child and my DH bonded with her. To say that someone can not bond because the other is BF is ridiculous. I am going to miss the hot topic on the view today but I am sure I would just get more aggrivated.

JAYMESMOM replied: I am going to get my dad to TIVO it for me. I have never been that big of a fan but! To think someone can't bond with the child since they are BF is ridiculous. Jim and Jayme have such an immense bond and he has been gone 90% of the time for work since she was 6 months. It is about the time you spend with them when you have them.

mammag replied: I must have missed it.... I started watching at 10 after and they never did discuss it before switching to Madonna. I had to do other stuff so I didn't wait to see if they would cover it later... Did they?

Jamison'smama replied: I think I may have figured out why. Yesterday when they were discussing it and said they would make it a "hot topic" tomorrow (today) the reason was because Barbara wanted to make a statement and was not on the show yesterday. She did call in at the end of the segment and state that she is pro-breastfeeding and that it was not her that felt uncomfortable seeing the woman nursing on the plane, it was the man sitting next to the nursing mom. SHe said she supported bf etc. I think they missed a great opportunity by not discussing it further. Star was not on yesterday so we didn't get her view but the other 3 women breasfed their children.


Another thing Rosie said yesterday was that all the moms at the nurse-in were hormonal and a little crazy and that's why they were doing the protest

Kaitlin'smom replied: gurr and I used to like Rosie, how very say I tell you I would soo love to be nurising a baby if I were to ever run into her....or at least have a nursing mom there to, something so when she makes a comment I can fire tham back at her
