The adoption is in process

So I have an appt with the lawyer on Monday to start all of this, and I am meeting with the ex tomorrow to get a check from him. He is basically paying me to go away and get out of his life. Which is fine with me cause I want dh to adopt her. The money is just a bonus I just needed him to not fight the adoption. So everyone cross their fingers for me that this goes thru without a problem.

we thru a huge party for caleb when he was adopted by my dh, and our lawyer made a really official looking cert. and we framed it and we celebrate that day.
its also so emotional...
what a wonderful time for you...
it will go thru smoothly, just keep focused on the prize at the end..

My lawyer is contacting the sperm donor today to get him to go ahead and sign everything. Cause its all uncontested. And she said it could take up to a month just to get a court date for me and dh to go in to see the judge. I am so hoping all of this is done before she starts school I want her to start school with her new lastname.

calebs sperm donor was the same way, and he didnt have to go to the hearing.
its a really quick and easy process, takes 5 mins once you are there.
