The amazing non-growing boy!
PrairieMom wrote: We just got done going through Benjamin's closet and trying on every single item of clothing in there, trying to figure out what I need to buy him for school this year, and the verdict is....
NOTHING! AGAIN! I didn't have to buy a single thing last year, and that little stinker still fits into all his 2 and 3T stuff. I guess thats good and bad. He only fits into 3T pants with adjustable waist bands, and all this 2 and 3T shirts still fit him. The only thing that changed is that he grew to tall for his 2 T pants. I guess it will be cheap back to school shopping for us this year.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: LOL, Logan's getting hand-me-downs from our next door neighbor. Her son is 7 months younger than Logan and she went nuts with clothes last year. Most of the things she's sent over still have tags on them.
PrairieMom replied:
nice. I guess it pays to have a little guy huh? Our neighbor boy who is 2 weeks YOUNGER than Benjamin is 80 pounds and wears a 13 shoe. Benjamin is all of 36 pounds, and the sixe 10's I bought him yesterday are way to big.
Ben wouldn't be able to wear that kids hand me downs until 2nd grade at least. That child is a MOOSE.
Calimama replied:
At least you save money.
moped replied: Well think of the money you are saving!!!!!!!
Cece00 replied: How old is Ben again? Does his ped say anything about him not growing?
Natalie has grown a little recently but she was the same size for awhile...and what she did grow wasnt a ton, I went through the winter clothes the other day & a lot of the shirts she had last yr will still fit...oh well, less for me to buy...yeah right, like that will stop me
PrairieMom replied: He turned 4 in may. I asked the Ped about it at his last appt, but he hasn't fallen off the scale yet, and he DID gain a bit last year. Like 2 pounds. What ever. She encourages me to feed him. Nice advice. He never eats dinner. thats the problem. I don't give him a ton of snacks, trying to insure that he will be hungry at supper time, but it doesn't really work. He doesn't get snacks after dinner either. the stinker just won't eat. Usually, he will basically go from 3 in the afternoon till 7 in the morning with no food, and he is totally fine with that.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I wish I had this problem. My problem is the opposite. Tanner and Aiden both wont stop growing. I'm crossing my fingers just hoping Aiden can still fit into his 3-6 stuff until the end of summer. Tanner just turned 5 and fits into things that most 2nd graders wear. At his K orientation I finally got to see what a normal 5 year old is SUPPOSE to look like. He is the youngest but the tallest in his class.
PrairieMom replied: last year Benjamin was the shortest in his class by an entire head. Including the girls.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Lucky that you don't have to buy any clothes at least! I'd have to buy new clothes even if my kids didn't grow - they stain stuff so bad.
luvbug00 replied: I've got a sprout here too. Mya still is under 48 inches and 45 lbs and is 7 soo she can wear 5-6 clothes and shoe size 12. ( big feet thanks to b-rad)
CantWait replied: Anthony is only 35 lbs or so also, and he just turned 4. He's quite tall though. We just got lightweights is all.
moped replied: Jack is very much the same, but Jack still seems to gain weight - who knows!
But it amazes me that they can go so long without eating~
MommyToAshley replied: Wow... since he is healthy and doing well, you should just enjoy the savings.
Ashley is the total opposite. She can never wear the clothes from last year's season. She is wearing six 6-7 now. She'll be 5 this September. I hate it because it is hard to find cute girly stuff in that size... once they get out of the toddler sizes, they make everything look so grown up.
