The good news and the bad...

I have finally gotten K used to going to sleep without nursing! She has gone to bed twice now without the boobie in her mouth and I've gotten her down for her naps 4 days in a row without nursing. Granted, she still nurses before bed but not until she is completely asleep. It took me an hour to get her settled and asleep tonight though....it will only get better..right???
The bad news is that my DH is an IT director (in addition to teaching at the local community college and some other part time jobs) and he has been at work since 8:30 this morning. It's now 9:17pm and I don't expect him home before 2 or 3 am Apparently they got hit hard my a virus which is kinda funny because a certian someone who shall remain un-named (not DH) was supposed to install anti virus software on the servers a LONG time ago. Is that FIRE I smell? Get it, that guy should be fired? LOL
And now some more good news. My house is clean, my DD is sleeping and I am actually getting some work done.
kit_kats_mom replied: since I'm trying to stay positive, another bit of good news. DH will be able to take off another day this week since he's basically working 2 shifts. Now the quandry...should he take off a day when DD is at the sitters so he can get stuff done or should he take off Friday when she's home and he can spend lots of time with us? If I know my DH it'll be Friday. LOL
jdkjd replied: Good for you!!!! I'm still scared to try and put Bailey down without a bottle. Am going to try this week. Eeek.
Ugh for DH though.
~CrazieMama~ replied: Im happy she is weaned....that takes alot of time off of feeding.
Sorry about your DH....
I say your DH should take that Friday off, spend time with you all.
I hope all works out for you.
A&A'smommy replied: Yayyy that great!!! im so glad for you and all your good news!!! As for the bad news (((hugs)))!!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: just night weaned...not totally.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Good for you!!! I'm glad that she is starting to do that for you and if you continue to go about it the way you are it should get better. Not good that DH is going to be at work so late. I know what that is like. My DH used to work shifts which would sometimes get him home at 5 in the morning. He might be going back to that when he gets home. I hope not. I think DH should take Friday off so you can have a nice family day. I can't wait until DH gets home so we can do the same.
CantWait replied: WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Great news about K. Too funny about the fire though
MommyToAshley replied: WTG Kat! That's great, I think it is a good step towards her sleeping through the night too!
Sorry about the DH. But, it could be worse... it could be you working all those hours. Seriously, I hope all of you get to spend some quality family time together this weekend!
aspenblue1 replied: Taht is great that she is falling asleep with out nursing.
Sorry about DH having to work so much.
amynicole21 replied: Yay Kat!!! WTG We're still having to nurse at night maybe once a week, but that is soooo much better than 3x a night! Congrats
Sorry to hear that DH is swamped at work... hopefully he'll catch up on relax time on his day off.
ediep replied: yay for night weaning!!! WTG!!!
Sorry about DH working so long!
Kaitlin'smom replied: My DH is also in IT and they to got hit by that virus.....needless to say he update dours at home fast! he knew I would be mad/heartbroken if all my pics of kaitlin were wiped out from my PC and our server. granted I have burnt a CD of most of them but still.....
Kaitlin'smom replied: I am glad K is going in the direction you want, as for DH working alot sorry but at least he will get a extra day off this week.....
coasterqueen replied: YAY! Congrats on getting her to sleep without nursing. Kylie is still nursing to sleep and several times a night but since we started a nighttime routine and she is not crabby anymore, for some reason I don't mind all the night *interruptions*.
Sorry about DH having to work late. I know how you feel, my DH is traveling more now than he ever has and it's really getting to me.
Hope he takes Friday off with you two
DansMom replied: That's very encouraging about the night weaning!! Way to go K! Let us know if she eats more during the day as a result. I'm contemplating night-weaning soon, I'm just so exhausted, but I want to get Daniel a little more weight gain before I try it. If K's appetite increases during the day, that will be some encouragement for me to try the nightweaning sooner rather than later.
jen replied: That is so great!!! sorry about the virus and and DH Late working hours.............but YAY for the DAY OFF!!!
Way to Keep Positive!!! sometimes staying positive in itself is the hardest but most rewarding thing you can do!!!
kimberley replied: yikes about DH working. hope he gets it cleared up soon so you can get that family day together
WTG K!!!!! that is great! she is really growing up!
