The more I think about this hurricane

lisar wrote: the madder I get. Where I live I cant get regular cable, I have satellite so if I loose power its not a big deal I have a generator back-up. (I hope it works its been a while since we tested it) But anyways I wont get any satellite signal. So no tv. Not everything is on the generator back up either. Just the main things like fridge, freezer, water pumps, and the living room. Thats it. No other lights or outlets. I can still flush the toilet thats a bonus.

Am I over thinking this to much or what?

The school board is meeting now deciding if they are gona close schools tomorrow. I dont think tomorrow I am thinking more of Thursday. I am in JAX Fl so our worse is going to be wed night and all day thursday.

sparkys2boys replied: Well, stay safe for sure Lisa hug.gif

PrairieMom replied: yuck. I can't imagine having time to think and plan for a natural disaster. its gotta be both good and bad. Here, we only get tornados, and we get only a few minutes notice. I would go nuts if I had to dwell on it for that long.

MommyToAshley replied:
I never really thought about it that way. I always thought, "at least you get a decent amount of warning with a hurricane"... and there's really no preparing for tornados. I don't know, I think I'd still like to have advance warning.

Stay safe Lisa. hug.gif hug.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: I hasn't even rained here today. Just breezy and cloudy. I'm soooo ticked that they cancelled school. growl.gif growl.gif

Hurricanes? Sure, I can understand cancelling school for but a tropical storm. I'm so irritated.

gr33n3y3z replied: We will be flying into Tampa in the am woohoo cant wait
The winds will only be around 30 mph was the last I heard

BAC'sMom replied: Tropical storms can be very dangerous too. The last time I heard Fay was not dying down she was strengthening even over land. When dealing with Mother Nature it’s best to be safe than sorry. Take Tropical Storm Allison, for example she dumped nearly 32 inches of rain near Houston, killed 22 people and the estimate damage surpassed $4.88 billion.

Stay safe girl and I’ll be praying for all of you in Florida.

lisar replied:
Tampa should be okay by morning.

lisar replied:
I like the warning better. Atleast I know and can prepare and leave if necessary

Kirstenmumof3 replied: hug.gif hug.gif Sorry I didn't read this until now! I really hope everything goes well for you and your family. Just make sure that you are well stocked with canned foods, water, batteries, first aid kit. I myself wouldn't know what to do if a hurricane was headed my way! Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers! hug.gif hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: yuck i hate hurricanes.. although I do like all the rain we get we are actually getting caught up

lisar replied: So far its not to bad here. I soooo DONT need the rain on my land though. We are already under water and this isnt going to help matters at all. We have discussed it and decided that if it gets to bad we are going to Amanda's house. My bff. I live in a mobile home so I am really not feeling safe, especially when storms are one of my fears.
