amynicole21 wrote: Even though I'm not a religious person by any means, this makes me terribly sad. He seemed like he was such a good person, so kind and patient. May he rest in peace.

Cary Lynn replied: I just saw something about ti on CNN, My heart is so sad. He was Such a Huge Icon growing up.

MomToMany replied: bawling.gif He will be truly missed bawling.gif . He has done a lot of good work in his time as pope.

A&A'smommy replied: I saw on the news last night that he got he last rights read to him yesterday... I know he has been ill for a while....

gr33n3y3z replied: Oh no that is so sad
yes he will be missed

My2Beauties replied: I have been seeing on the news that he has been ill for quite some time - that is really sad!

amynicole21 replied: CNN just changed the headline to read that he's just deteriorating... don't know what's going on. unsure.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have it on at work, no real volume but its just a bit odd to me to see all thoses people just standing there wating for him to die, I kno wthey love and will miss him but its just odd

ammommy replied: His condition in worsening, but he is still alive. his shoes will be hard to fill.

jcc64 replied: NPR also reported he was already dead according to the AP, and then retracted.
Seems everyone wants to be the 1st to get the "scoop". Smacks of vultures hovering over a still living carcass.

kel replied: he isnt dead yet..poor man..

Lollie replied: I cant believe these people trying to geta quick scoop on someone's suffering!!!!

Its so sad.... sad.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Yeah, I was thinking that this "death watch" stuff is pretty odd. I finally turned cnn off. It is sad that someone who brought such comfort to so many people is passing on but I think it's kind of cruel to string all those people on for hours and hours.

mommy2owen replied: That is very sad! bawling.gif

kel replied: shame he should be allowed to die in peace....but he has put himself into a very public position so im sure he knows that all the media hype goes along with that..
still..its terrible..

mammag replied: This is just my take on it.

I think there are a lot of people out there for media stuff and not sincere. But the Pope is such a strong and loved figure. I think a lot of people are upset and feel the need to be near him as he goes to meet the Lord. I think it's similar, for instance, to when Reagan died. People want to be near when there is nothing else they can do.

I actually feel like (don't know certainly) he would like having these people near.

I don't know this is just my opinion. I am not Catholic but find myself surprisingly saddened by this. My heart flutters when I think of him going to God. Oh how his spirit must be filled with joy.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: sad.gif That's so sad! I haven't really been following the news at all today. Just that someone said that the Pope was in a coma! Very, very sad!

Alice replied: Yeah, I've had the radio on all day, just kinda in the background. It's so sad-- he's been such a positive force in the world for over two decades.

Whether you are Catholic or not, or agree with him or not, you've got to admire the fact that he always spoke his mind and was not afraid to take an unpopular stand if he thought it was right. He's been a man of conviction in the public eye, and they're hard to find these days.

He'll be greatly missed by people of all faiths. My prayers are with him.

MommyToAshley replied:
I have to agree with you...

Yes, a lot of media are there to get the scoop, but he is one of the most influencial and important holy figures in the world. I am sure most of the people at the Vatican are sincere and just want to be close by to show their love and respect. He touched a lot of lives, both in the secular and religious realms, and I think he would be comforted by such an outpouring of love.

He will truly be missed, it is really sad.

moped replied: May he rest in peace

PascosGirl replied: I am not Catholic either but the world needs more people that care about the good of mankind. May he rest in peace, eternally in heaven.

PascosGirl replied: It is 11 pm EST and the news said he hasn't died yet. He will die though. I just thought I would add that.
