This about broke my heart....

Anyways, Ashley wakes up before I am done with my work. So, I give her the new princess color pencils and let her sit at the desk beside me and color/draw. She looked up at me and asked me if I was working. I told her yes. Then she asked me why I had to work. She used to ask this all the time, and I would joke with her and tell her that I had to work to make money to buy her diapers... but, I can't say that any more. So, I said that I had to work to make money to pay for her dance class. (Side note: Ashley LOVES dance class and it's all that she's talked about and keeps asking when she gets to go back) Ashley looks at me and replies, "That's okay Mommy.... I don't need to go to dance class. Can we play now?" Talk about pulling on the heart strings! So, I decided I had my priorities wrong, stopped working, and we went to the park. I emailed the client and told them that I would have the work done first thing in the morning. (I just hope the client isn't reading this!)

Kaitlin'smom replied: that was so sweet of her. Kait often asked why I have to work AGAIN, so I know how you feel, but I dont have the option of not going to work most days.

julesmom replied: We tell our boys dh has to work to buy them toys. Once, one of them said we could sell all their toys and then daddy wouldn't have to work.

I can't do it too often, otherwise we wouldn't have a business. Luckily, it works out most of the time that DH and I can switch off and on who takes care of Ashley. It's not often that both of us get work that needs to be done that same day. I usually end up doing most my work after she goes to bed, which makes for a really long day, but it's worth it. But, there are days when I have to work and DH is watching Ashley that she will say she wants me.... those days are tough. And, sometimes she wants Daddy when he is working.
