This is so awful! - I can't stop crying....

It is also very painful and can take days or weeks to complete its full horrible cycle so I think we are going to have to put her down I know alot of people don't agree with that but please save that for another thread-we have tried so hard with her and she has fought a good fight too but because we love her we also do not want her to suffer. I am praying that this shot helps her rally but I know in reality we are at the end of a losing battle. Please pray for Taylor now...The only thing we told her is that Cookie is going back to live with her real momma

that is so sad I'm sorry I know you tried so hard but you were fighting odds from the start. I will still pray that things make a huge turn around.

Poor Cookie and poor you and Taylor.
Listen, you know how much i love animals and that i'd do anything to save an animal but if Cookie has mengitis and if you know for sure it will kill her and make her suffer first then putting her down is the best thing and i don't think any person in good conscience could disagree with that decision. had i know Starlight would come out of surgery to suffer another night and then die a painful death i would have put him down for sure.
i'd first wait to see if she has meningitis but if she does, do not feel bad about your decision, you fought like a tiger for that calf and she obviously knows you love her or she wouldn't be putting her head in your lap when she feels sick.
i am praying for a miracle for Cookie, let's all try to keep our thoughts positive and maybe she'll get thru this. if not, know you did everything you could.

Maddie has a really cute book called "The Forever Dog" by Bill Cochran. The author actually came to her school yesterday to read the book and do a book signing. I bought a book, but I'm not sure where you could find it. It's about losing a pet. I know death is a sensitive topic and you may want to stick with "Cookie is going home to her mommy", but in case you wanted to touch deeper, this is really a good one.

I'm hoping you kept your MIL away today, yes???
