This is soooo backwards - airline prices
luvmykids wrote: It is cheaper to fly roundtrip from Jacksonville to here, changing planes in Atlanta, than it is to fly roundtrip from Atlanta here. Does not make sense to me
I can get ATL for cheaper, but not on the dates I need, DH needs to be here for Macie's bday
mom2my2cuties replied: Make sure you check with the Airlines directly. Sometimes you can get flights cheaper through them versus a place like Expedia. Also check on the days you have him flying that can make a large difference. Also time of day too.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: It's wierd how they work.
For me...it's way cheaper to fly out to the States and have a connecting flight back to Canada, than it is just direct internationally...
Cece00 replied: I hate how that works sometimes.
We are a direct hub to Memphis, yet a ticket costs anywhere from $600-900 (we only live 7 hrs driving time). Other hubs have them from $200, its for some reason just US.
Tell me THAT makes sense.
luvmykids replied: Delta was actually the least expensive, by a good amount. And I have him flying on the cheaper days, with a Saturday night stay which can be a HUGE difference. I guess I just don't have enough advance notice to get the really good prices....we'll plan better for the next one
Nina J replied: American airlines are so expensive. Anytime I've looked in to holidays in the US, I check out the price of domestic flights on the websites of the airlines I know of over there. Domestic flights are always hundreds of dollars. Domestic flights here in Aust. are $80. With certain airlines, of course. They can be higher. I would always use Jetstar's jet saver option though, why spend $200 on a few hours of flight when I can spend $80? That's what always puts me off travelling for a holiday to the US, I have no idea how to get around because your airlines confuse me and cost a lot, lol.
grapfruit replied: Did you try www.skybus.com ?
Also I know out of the Columbus airport up here, they have some unpublished, dirt cheap flights. Atlanta might have that too.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: When DH was booking the flights for there trip to Toronto, it was cheaper to fly out first thing in the morning on Wednesday and take the last flight out on Friday. Then after the Friday the prices went way up!
lisar replied: Jacksonville, Florida?????
Are you here? Or comming here???
~Alyssa~ replied: have you try southwest my mom got cheap tickets there for us going to florida in february
holley79 replied: How far is Jax from where he will be? Can you just get on your connecting flight in Atl instead of getting on the first leg of the flight?
luvmykids replied: DH will be in Cordele, GA which is about 2hrs from ATL or 2.5 from JAX so I was trying to find the cheapest flights for him to get back her for Macie's bday.
Holley, they won't let you do that anymore, if you're not on the first leg they cancel your seat on the second
