CantWait replied: omg they're wacko, that's all I can say. They must have a lot of patience. I just wonder in situations like that though if the older kids have to pick up a lot of the slack. Ron had too because he was the oldest and he hated it a lot of the times.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Each of the older children is assigned 1 or 2 buddies. They are in charge of feeding, bathing, dressing and in general herding their buddy or buddies. They also have to help them with homework and mom homeschools all of them. Doesn't sound like too much of a childhood to me.

I can't imagine cooking and cleaning.. I heard they wanted 20 kids..

The one thing that gets me .. is they can't name an occupation?

If you ask what business they are in.. they say various odd and ends.. how does odds and ends.. feed 16 kids...???

They sold there old house.. it was some prime real estate in Springdale.. looks like they are putting in a nice housing addition.. but not enuff to pay for a7000 sq ft house that has what... 4 washers and dryers?? I dont know..

But as long as they support and not us tax payers... more power to them!

jem0622 replied: I went to school with a gal who was one of 16 kids. I can definitely see how everyone would be involved in raising one another, being a team (truly!), and doing their part.

If their hearts are so big and they want a big family then it is truly sad to me that they wouldn't consider opening their hearts and home to be foster parents or adopt those children who need a safe and happy place to be.

The father was in politics. I don't know if he plans to run again for office or not. I do believe that they homeschool, which would be most ideal considering the age range.

I definitely have plenty to do with 4!

elvisfan replied: I don't think I'd want 16. I do know people in our church have lots of kids. One family has 12 and they are currently trying to adopt since the mom is unable to have more kids. They do something similar with the buddy thing but she does the helping with homework. She homeschools them all as well. It's amazing to watch them. And her kids are always well behaved!

holley79 replied: I didn't even have 16 in my day care class. There is no way I could handle that. If she can, more power to her and her DH. Did you see the grocery bill and stuff. Holy COW, that's more then my house payment.

I have been lucky with this pregnancy but I dont' think I want to go through this 16+ times. JMO

I can't imagine having 16 kids, Elle and Gwen give me enough trouble.
