Thoroughly impressed with preschool today
C&K*s Mommie wrote: Today was C's first official day of K-4. There are numerous things that I was impressed with from what we were told at orientation for this school the other day. Among them were the security measures they take to ensure that the right child is given to the right person. Parent or otherwise. From color coded tags the children have to wear, that help teachers and directors know if a child is a bus ride student, a car ride student, or an extended day program student. Lots of check and balances going on. To get a child from the busstop, you will need to present a picture ID. Side doors are locked after class begins (that put me at a little bit of ease) Also the way that traffic was directed (which was extra awful today being the first day of kindergarten). Down to picking children up which was orderly and quick. ETA: If there is no parent at a bus stop for the first week of school that it is requested that someone be there to pick up kindergarten children.. no parent at bustop= no child dropped off.
This post would be novel length if I tried to explain it all, but I was delighted to see that extra care was taken to ensure the safety of children, and also the security.
Oh and it was cute to see all the newbie parents who have their first borns in K-4 being nervous outside the classroom door, watching and listening for their children. And good to know that I was not the only one with camera in hand to document each step of this, their first day of school.
How has everyone else's week with their child in school been?
Boo&BugsMom replied: So happy as went well!!! Tanner has one more year yet before K and he wont be going to preschool this year since I do preschool at home. I'll probably cry when that day comes a year from now!
TheOaf66 replied: you'll have another baby at home to nurture
C&K*s Mommie replied: Funny that you say that. I just got off of the phone with Chris, and was telling him what Christian told me about her day. Well his mother called earlier today, and asked him how things went with C today, and my MIL asked if Christian cried, he admitted to yes a little (we expected a few tears, even though she was beside herself with excitement). My MIL said that she would have been crying right along with Christian if she were here in my shoes today. She cried when all of her kids went to kindergarten for the first time.
I told him when Kellie goes to preschool in a couple of years, I will be crying but not for Kellie but for the teachers, instead. The teachers who will likely be pulling out their hair because of Kellie. Seriously, I am not looking forward to those days when Kellie enters daycare or school. She will be one tough child to handle.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Not the point dear!
mckayleesmom replied: So...where are the pictures??....Glad she had a good day.

I took some extra pics for me to document everything about this day, but I will not bore anyone with those (like her laying on the couch still groggy but excited first thing this morning, or putting on shoes, etc). The date on the camera/images is wrong, and I cropped some to keep some revealing things out. Here are some of Christian today.
