Tidy Up Tuesday

coasterqueen wrote: Anyone want to join in? I know there have been several posts lately about not getting things organized, not getting the cleaning done, etc. so I thought I'd bring this post back.

I challenge everyone to do at least one organizational cleaning task today. Whether it be straigten out the junk drawer, go through all your magazines and weed out the old ones, etc. ONE thing, that's all you have to do.

I need to clean out a closet where I stash all the kids cards, pics, artwork, etc. I have a habit of storing it in there and telling myself that I will organize it later into the appropriate boxes, etc. I never do. rolleyes.gif cool.gif

SO I'm going to stop on the way home and pick up a few photo boxes, which is what I use to stash certain memoires and work on that closet tonight. Hopefully I can get it all done after the girls are in bed and I've done my workout.

Good luck to anyone who accepts my challenge. thumb.gif

edit for spelling.

luvmykids replied: Count me in!! I'm going to do .... my kitchen pantry. Thanks for the reminder! thumb.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I need to stop the procrastination and fold clothes. All the other chores are done or take no time at all.

coasterqueen replied:
FOLD THOSE CLOTHES NICOLE!!! thumb.gif

I did that last night and the night before because DH threatened to wear dirty underwear if we didn't get the laundry situation under control. happy.gif YUCK! So he helped me fold the MANY loads that were clean but not folded. blush.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Ditto...clothes...but I will wait till the kids are in bed.

fashionmumofboys replied: Going to ballet tonight and then will tidy up the family room when I come back from there.

BAC'sMom replied: Good idea Karen....count me in. I had to clean my daughter's room last night; she has been shoving stuff under her bed AGAIN. Don't ask growl.gif

I have decided this is the year that we are going to purge at our house, so thank you for reminding me to get my butt in gear. thumb.gif

Here’s my tip for the day: No matter how much you TRY to vacuum up glitter, it will never go completely away. emlaugh.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Ooh, I like this one. I am going to do my cleaning supplies under the sink.

kit_kats_mom replied: I actually did all of the organizing last weekend. The kitchen cabinets, laundry room cabinets, kids rooms, office and my closet. tongue.gif

Sooooo, I will finish painting the trim in the living room tonight and put another coat on the doors that lead into it.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I accept and will get my vanity clean and organized tonight.

kayla's mama replied: Count me in.....I'll do my kitchen island, the keeper of all junk mail blush.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: whoo hoo, i did something... lol... I organized Blakely's game room!

My3LilMonkeys replied: I organized and alphabetized my books and have 3 1/2 boxes set aside to get rid of.

GREAT idea!!

coasterqueen replied: Well I'm pretty proud of myself. This post motivated me to do a LOT tonight. Not that any of you really care, but I worked out, took a shower, shaved my legs, organized that closet I spoke of earlier, cleaned the girls playroom and now besides being on here I am writing out all the recipes I've had on recipe cards so I eliminate tons of paper stashed in a book. happy.gif

YAY!!!!!

My3LilMonkeys replied: WTG Karen! Shaving my legs always seems like such a major chore.

luvmykids replied:
WOW! I am impressed!!! thumb.gif I started my pantry but didn't get it finished, should've known it would be hard with the kids wanting to open every box of pudding, bag of cereal, and can of peaches! I'm going to finish it tonight though, so it'll still count.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: hehhehehe i am miss anal clean vaccum dust daily the whole nine I will ride your rears if you like. I have ocd about cleaning

luvmykids replied:
HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU DO THAT EVERY SINGLE DAY? Do you have 28 hours in a day?

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif I used to be that way before having kids. Dh HATED it! Now he wishes I would just clean something, anything. happy.gif It got much worse for me after the second kid. There are just not enough hours in the day between work and being with my kids to spend it cleaning.
