Time to slow down :) - please read

Last week when I was getting my hair done and she put me under the dryer I was reading this magazine and it had a great article about Slowing down in our life. It was very interesting to me. This woman has lost 75lbs in a year just from simply slowing down She was busy with her life just like the rest of us and was rushing through her meals if she was taking one so she could hurry and get the kids in the bath and in bed.
Sound familiar right?? Well she had some suggestions and was talking about how much better her life is and I totally related to her. Here were some of her tips that I wanted to share with you.
~TAKE A LUNCH BREAK--not 5 minutes at your desk actually go to break room and sit and eat your lunch for at least 20-25 minutes.
~EAT DINNER AT TABLE-- with your family and TALK about how your day was and enjoy this time not rush through it.
~PUT YOUR FORK DOWN BETWEEN BITES-- you will tend to get fuller and eat less.
~PARK FURTHEST AWAY AT STORE-- Instead of finding the closest spot park further away and enjoy the walk up to the store.
There is a book about this as well you can get more info at the website www.slowdowndiet.com
Just wanted to share DH and I have been doing this and I'm loving it. Even if 1 person gets some help from this then I have done my PC duty

luvmykids replied: Thats great advice for anyone! Sounds like another diet, from the book "Why French Women Don't Get Fat". It talks about how they savor food, and experience each meal as a special occasion.
Mom2BNTN replied: Thanks for the suggestions on how to slow down and get the most out of life. I know I tend to find myself too busy to eat most days so I will try to follow the tips that worked out so well for that lady.
BTW, I really love you name, Kristi!! My name is also Kristi...yes, spelled just like yours.
MiniMomy replied: ey, I'll give that a try!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Great ideas that are so simple if we just pay attention to how much we actually rush around. Thanks for sharing!
Brias3 replied: Very helpful! My mom and I both do the same thing you suggested about parking at the store. I figure, I have more room to get the kids out of the car AND any extra walking I can do is good for me
