MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Bout dang time.

mom2my2cuties replied: I think it was good of him to Apologize and it was about time for him too. I think it shows character. I wonder if having a new baby and a new mommy in his house made him realize that PPD is a real issue for some women. unsure.gif

MoonMama replied: About time! dry.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Hmmm...I find it interesting that the apology came after Paramount pictures fired him because his ratings were low.......Probably because half the woman he insulted were probably his fans......I don't buy it.

mckayleesmom replied: I see he ate an omlet before leaving....I hope Brooke slipped in some Anti psych meds..... rolling_smile.gif

TheOaf66 replied: well that is find and dandy but I think it was made a big deal for no reason, so he spouted off a little bit, he just went overboard, some people are just to sensitive.

A&A'smommy replied:
umm he insulted a woman that had a serious ppd problem and went on how terrible she was for taking anti depressents that probably saved her sanity ppd is and can be VERY serious!!! No It was a big deal and no one is being oversensitive!

A&A'smommy replied:
ITA i still don't like him!

redchief replied:
You're kidding, right?

hawkshoe replied: I think it is to little to late. I am of the opinion that he did it because he has made many public mistakes lately and this was a way for him to get some positive press.

holley79 replied: See how out of touch I am, I didn't know anything about it. It's good he said he was sorry though.

luvmykids replied: I'm on the fence, sometimes it can take someone awhile to realize they need/want to apologize but the timing is a little funny to me.

mom2my2cuties replied:
No. I am not. It takes character for someone to apologize, even if they are 100% in the wrong. Apologizing means admitting to yourself and others that you are wrong. And only a person with some sense of decency would do so.

Personally I think the entire situation is none of anyone's business, but at least he did the right thing by apologizing. It is more than can be said of some.

BAC'sMom replied: I think he is still is a LOSER.IMO tongue.gif

redchief replied:
The term "character" can be used to describe Mr. Cruise, all right. He is a character, but being one and having character are two different things. Is it anyone's business? It wouldn't be if he didn't make a public spectacle of his idiotic comments, ascribing his beliefs to Ms. Shields. But he DID make public statements, and therefore it became everyone's business to ostracize him just as publically. Just who does he think he is? I don't think his apology was nearly contrite or humble enough. It was orchestrated by his publicist in an effort to save his career. He's an actor with an ultra-conservative bent who insists that his beliefs are good for the masses, and that, indeed makes him a character; it doesn't give him character. I'm glad his studio fired him. I hope no other takes him on. Let him see what it is to live in the shoes of the not-so-fortunate, maybe it will give him character.

mckayleesmom replied:
Bravo Ed!!!

mom2my2cuties replied:
Well we will disagree on this one. I am not a Tom Cruise fan, never have been, I only can take inference off of what I have seen and read online, just as everyone else. Everyone has thier own swing on things. And while I think it does take some degree (even a smiggen, maybe in the tip of his pinky toe) of character to apologize. I don't think it automatically makes "everything all better."

And perhaps his apology was a publicity stunt, perhaps it was genuine. We arent in his inner circle, nor are we able to judge his actions because I am willing to bet not one person on here knows him personally and well enough to know what he means by the things he does. Part of me wonders if the man doesn't need a whole host of anti-psychotics himself.

Although, I don't think he ever has to worry about being part of the "Not-so-fortunate" crowd. You are right though, he is quite a character.

(((Forgive me if I am not making much sense today - Migraine set in and I am on codine and so I'm not explaining things well)))

redchief replied: I'm not a Tom Cruise fan either. But I used to admire his acting and speaking ability. That ended when he joined the Church of Scientology and decided that it was so great that everyone needed to hear about it. Perhaps my embarrassment at once calling myself a fan creeps in to my opinion on the matter. He certainly gives me the creeps now. I have to stop playin' word games now... it's hurtin' my head.

mom2my2cuties replied: hehehehe..

Wanna know something funny - I just found out a few weeks ago that when Andrew & I got married - the guy who married us was actually a Scientologist. And a very in deep one...

Kind of made me wonder about a few things smile.gif

ediep replied: well, I say, good for him, but I still don't buy it

Celestrina replied:
I couldn't agree with you more. I have to wonder if this was his own idea, or if this was some executive's idea so they wouldn't look bad when they hire Tom.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I don't buy it. Total loser in my book.
