Took Dusty to the Vet again today

CantWait wrote: That's another $140. In the last 3 weeks, I've spent $240 on vaccinations, and tests. And they wanted to give me medication for his ear, I just can't afford this anymore and told her so, she gave me the drops for free. Hopefully they work, cause I don't know what to do about him anymore.

luvbug00 replied: wow you have a nice vet. smile.gif most arround here would respond with a "then why do you have a pet?" they are jerks. mad.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: hug.gif It does get expensive! hug.gif Hope the ear drops help. I've been more off than on here lately~what's up with him?

Our cheap little pound puppy has cost $428 since we got him Memorial Day weekend. He had 5 kinds of worm and 5 kinds of skin parasites (You can only get 6 so she's treating him for that one, too sad.gif ) He was neutered on Wednesday. I had to re buy ear meds for him this week because I donated all Dudley's stuff to the humane society after he passed. Good thing they're so cute & sweet, eh? tongue.gif

Dusty has had reaccurring ear infections since he was 10 months old. It started with one ear, then a year ago the other ear got infected. We treated them time and time again only for them to come back. I haven't treated them in about 2 years because money has been tight. Last year he didn't even get his yearly vaccinations. I know it's horrible, but I guess we didn't count on getting a dog with so many problems, and we love him to bits and pieces, and he really is our puppy even though he's almost 5. I just can't afford him. Ron wants to put him down because we just can't afford to keep spending on medication for him. 3 weeks ago we found out he also has a thyroid problem and will need to be on medication for the rest of his life. He'll need to go back to the vet in another 6 months, so there's more money.

I'm sorry your dog has got so much going on with him. Hopefully you guys will be able to get it under control. hug.gif

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: Vets are so expensive. Did you look into pet insurance?

CantWait replied:
Yes, from what I've asked around, pet insurance really isn't worth it. It'll cover emergencies but not everyday things. sleep.gif

TheOaf66 replied: sometimes these pets can get so expensive, especially when you have kids that need medicines etc.
