Toys for 3 year olds

lisar replied: Raygen has her Kitchen that she LOVES... And she has all the accessories that goes with it. She also has a sit-n-spin that is one of her favs.
momofone replied: We are big computer fans here CD's or websites maybe nickjr. or pbskids. for a 3 yr old.
BAC'sMom replied: Play Dough!
amynicole21 replied: I agree with the computer games. Nora is really into these lately. Other than that, I'm about as clueless as you. Ugh, her bday is sneaking up on me!
:.Mrs_Mommy.: replied: My girls absolutely love makeup. They go in the bathroom for hours putting on makeup and doing each others hair.
It is adorable and they clean up their messes so I am ok with it.
I buy the play/kid makeup for Lily and now she has a real-life model They love to look like a princesses, they will get on her Cinderella and Snow White dresses and makeup with purses and shoes and parade around the house.
Then again Kyla is almost 4 and Lily is 6 so I don't know if I have been any help.
Hmm...Lets see, She loves her babies and plays Mommy all the time. But those aren't unique or interesting.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
coasterqueen replied: Thanks ladies. I guess I'm just trying to find a "unique" gift of sorts. It's so hard to buy for the second, when she has everything to play with that the first one has, kwim? Kylie already had a kitchen and play food, play make-up table, etc, etc. They have tons of playdoh, play make up.
Megan can't sit down for two seconds to even play on the computer, either.
I got her a rain coat and rain boots because she has been wanting them. We are also going to get her a Superman figurine because she loves Superman so much. Her sister is going to get her moon sand because she liked playing with that at occupational therapy. I think I'll just stick to this and forget the "unique" thing. I swear, sometimes I feel this kid gets short changed, getting all the "hand me downs" from her sister.
amynicole21 replied: I feel the same way about the 2nd getting short-changed, Karen. Esp. since they are relatively close in age and all the stuff from Sophia is still in pretty good condition.
bawoodsmall replied: I like the FLOAM. No mess so that is good!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I just went to 3 year old twin girls bday party and bought them those wooden paper dolls. The clothes are magnetic, so the clothes are interchangeable. My friend wrote me a note saying it was the best gift, the girls liked them best over all their gifts. I just bought them at Target, they are made by Melissa & Doug I think. I liked them because they looked like something bought in a more boutique type educational toystore, less plastic.
My sister bought the boys two sets of puppets from the Lillian Vernon catelogue and they love them! They are really soft and have cute outfits. One set is all fairy-tale like with knights and princesses and the other is service people like policemen and firefighter. We didn't get the puppet theatre that goes with it, but it's on my "buy it next xmas" list.
I'm trying to steer clear of plastic toys that may carry lots of lead, so this is why I liked these items. Of course they can still have lead paint, but I just like the fact they are fabric and wood toys.
Craft supplies are always a huge hit for 3 year olds too.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I've had my eye on those puppet and the theatre. Glad to know your boys like them since they are about the same age as Sam and Abby.
mckayleesmom replied: All I know is this Mega mask....as freaky as it is has become a huge hit in our house http://store.cranium.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=892
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I know exactly what you mean and I don't have two of the same sex. I have no idea what to get Ethan for his birthday in a couple of weeks.
Jamison'smama replied: I have a boy that is 3 so my stuff is geared mostly towards that---he LOVES the Imaginext stuff (Aimee, does Ethan have that stuff?) Jamison plays with it with him--he has the castle, the jungle as well as jungle animals and the pirate ship. They are great toys and he'll play with them for a long time (from what I hear).
I got the playdough caddie thing for both kids and it is nice, it comes with a mat and several tools.
Jack and Jama are into Tinkertoys these days--they either build great stuff together or one takes all the longs sticks and the other cries.
I bought the kids a cardboard castle (that we put together) The kids get to color it---they can get inside of it as well. It was a pretty cool thing and not huge--I got it for less than 20.00 at Michaels around Christmas.
Goodness, I imagine with 2 of the same sex, it would get tough to find those creative gifts.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: YES, we have both the castle and the pirate ship. It is a huge hit with both boys! There are some small pieces though, so if the child is a "mouther", then I wouldn't recommend them. We have playgroup here sometimes and I find the pirate coins in the kids mouths, same with the canons. But it is a fun toy!
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: LOL - now that's what would happen at my house minus the building really cool stuff together.
