Train set, anyone have this one?
MommyToAshley wrote: I am thinking about getting Ashley this wooden train set for Christmas. It's a good deal for the table and a 60 piece train set. The Thomas train table alone is more than this whole set with table. It looks similar to the Thomas train, but I would feel more comfortable if I know someone that had the trian set. Anyone have it or know someone who does?
5littleladies replied: I don't have it but I just want to say that I think that looks awesome! My kids would love to get that train set. I'm sure Ashley would have a blast with it.
amynicole21 replied: I don't have one either, but it looks GREAT! Huge, too!
coasterqueen replied: I don't have it either but it seems a LOT cheaper than Thomas sets...and that's great to me. I looked at some Thomas sets in a catalog yesterday and about had a heart attack.
DansMom replied: Daniel has a mish-mash of different sets (even has a Thomas train, but everything else is from other sets). My mom made the table herself. I've learned from this that the pieces for wooden train sets are actually interchangeable with each other, which is great. From what I can tell, the tracks are basically the same, and the trains from different sets will run on all of them. In other words, I would get it! You can still get Thomas pieces individually (e.g. windmill, or a particular train) if there is one you like. That set looks good to me.
Kaitlin'smom replied: well we dont have it either no room for that ATM but it looks like such fun! Once we get some things moved around Kailtin will have space in her room for toys like that
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I think it looks awesome and it got great reviews! She will love that!
Boys r us replied: I think Ashley would enjoy it! We don't have a wooden one, but when Tanner was 3 or 4 I bought him an battery operated Elmo train set..it was really nice..very cute and quite large..so I had my dad put it together and mount the track on a big piece of plywood and then we put 5 rolling wheels on the bottom(like small wheels that would be on kitchen chairs or something) one on each corner and one in the middle...so that we could store it under his bed and roll it out when he wanted to play with it. He loved it and we've just recently gotten it back out for Braedon to play with!
Josie83 replied: I don't have it but it looks like a great idea! I'm sure Cassie would love it! Cassie has one of those which she adores . . . almost as much as those flipping cars!! I say go for it!! xx
Alice replied: We have one that's very similar-- both Brian and his dad love it! As someone else posted, you can interchange the tracks with the Brio and other big name ones, in case there is a particular piece of track that your set doesn't come with.
As far as the table goes, I didn't get a good look at yours. But ours was on sale at Toys R Us last Christmas (or was it the year before??) and has storage bins underneath-- they're great!! Look into it if you can.
3_call_me_mama replied: be careful with the imaginarium brand.... a couple of their train sets are designed so that they CAN ONLY be used with imaginarium brand accessories. Not sure about this particular one, but 2 others we looked at are. I'd check the dimensions and see if they are the same as the thomas ones, if they are then they are universal. hth....
Josie83 replied: Hav just realised that I said Cassie when I meant to say Ashley . . . durrr . . . xx
