Trashy Toys~What NOT To Spend Your Money On
Crystalina wrote: Rocket Fishing Rod
Anything you'd like to add?
Boo&BugsMom replied: I agree about the fishing rod. Tanner got one a few years ago from my brother for his b-day. Doesn't work very well.
I'm sure I can think of something, just not now off the top of my head. Hum...
sparkys2boys replied: OH wow, we were thinking about these for the boys.. hmmmm guess not now..lol
Crystalina replied: Don't Do It!! Evan's broke on the 3rd launch. We went to replace it and the lady at Wal-Mart pointed behind her where there were about five more that had been returned. She told us most have been coming back. I don't know why they would continue selling a product if it's obvious they are crap.
mckayleesmom replied: Thank's for the 411....Everytime Russell sees that commercial he yells.."I WAN'T ONE"
sparkys2boys replied: Gessh, they should be pulled off the shelf if they are that bad. Thanks again for the warning!
Boo&BugsMom replied: I have one I can send you.
TheOaf66 replied: Tanner's never broke but it is useless. It was a neat concept for kids but it doesn't work when you try to put a bait on it.
A&A'smommy replied: wow that looks really cool!!
Our Lil' Family replied: Unless I'm having Dejavu we've talked about this exact fishing pole before, no?
Crystalina replied: I know I posted about it when it first broke last summer. Maybe I was the topic starter. Can you tell I'm still upset about it? Now they have a new commercial out and they've added a few things to the package so Evan thinks it's "new and improved". No, it's the same ca-ca toy, they've just added more stuff to make you think it's better.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG that is so expensive for a toy that breaks so easily!
msoulz replied: I have a couple. Remakes of classic games are poor quality - Rock em Sock em Robots and the game Don't Break the Ice. The robots were destroyed almost immediately. The ice game works but instead of one cube at a time usually a bunch of them fall out. It's not like it was back in the day . . . yes, I am old!!
ETA this is a great topic to resurrect around October before holiday shopping!
kimberley replied: ITA about the rock em sock em robots! junk!
and don't buy the cheap dolly strollers from tru. i have had 2 now and the cloth seats rip at the tabs (and i don't sew ), the locking mechanism isn't strong enough (folds too easy). junk!
my2monkeyboys replied: I hate the bug maker oven-thing. After doing 3 batches they all started burning. And even from the very beginning the lock would stay locked hours after it cooled off. We ended up having to take it apart several times to get the bugs out. And that Bucking Bronco game where you add the pieces to the horse, in hopes not to make the horse buck them all off -- well, most all of the time it will buck within just a piece or 2, and that's only when you can get the horse to stay in place to start the game. Most of the time it pops up just as soon as you press him back in to the grooves that "hold" him.
I think that's it for now...
Crystalina replied: Wal-Mart sells a knitting machine for little girls...JUNK! I can barely operate it.
Also the Bratz sewing machine....JUNK! It doesn't have enough power to sew much at all AND the little spool of thread that goes underneath gets tangled very very easy.
ETA: Thanks about the 'Don't Break The Ice', my kids have been wanting that.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison has been begging for this....we even had to add it to her birthday list. Thanks for the info....off the list it goes.
