kimberley wrote: as i sit here at work, contemplating whether or not i am going to toss my soup.. lol i thought i'd ask you all.
there is something black in my cream of mushroom soup... could be part of a mushroom, seasoning or something else
mckayleesmom replied: My motto is....When in doubt...chuck it.
TrulyBlessed replied: I guess in that situation it depends! LOL!! I have a weak stomach and if I see a floaty in my drink, I toss it.
A&A'smommy replied: LOL in your soup I would pick it out and poke at it to see what it is
in other situations it depends on what it looks like
TheOaf66 replied: I say unless it is rat poison just deal with it and quit being a
just kidding, I think that is a judgement call
My3LilMonkeys replied: Depends on what it looks like really. I am not bothered in the least by hair in homemade food (restaurant or premade food I don't want it in cause I don't know whose hair it is lol) and most small specks I will just pick out and keep going. If it is large, smelly or a really funny color then I toss it.
kimberley replied: it was just a black speck. i picked it out, still couldn't identify it and kept eating. i was hungry
Boys r us replied: I usually will chuck it..I'm extra anal about my food, I've been known to toss a bowl of oatmeal over what is most likely a burnt oat or a bowl of mashed potatoes b/c I see a black spec..that is probably just a piece of potato skin..but if I can't be sure..it gets tossed!.
redchief replied: Could have been pepper.
Or it could have been rat poo.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Now Ed was just wrong!
Funny but wrong!
I am voting for a piece of mushroom..........of course if you think about it they are grown in poo...so actually Ed could be right!
MoonMama replied: Ewww, toss it!
kimberley replied: thanks for that lovely thought, Ed!
i know a few people who refuse to eat mushrooms for that reason, Abbie. i don't get the hang up tho... what do they think fertilizer is? but they still eat salad.
i survived the night without illness, so i guess it wasn't deadly
