Ugh! What a Day!

We have decided that we wanted to find a ped closer to our home, our present one is about 45 minutes away. So I called yesterday and he recommended someone closer to home, we made an appointment for today. I called my ins. company to switch primary doctors and they say it is effective immediately. So we head off to the new dr. and when we get there the nurse said that she checked the status of our ins. online and it still lists our old dr. So I call the ins. company back, they tell me that it is okay to see the new dr. and we will be covered to see him. The nurse refuses to accept that, says she has to go by what is online, and refused to call the ins. company herself. When I asked her why she wouldn't call she told me that wasn't her job. So I asked her what her job was. She wouldn't answer me. She told me to see the dr. it would be at least $85. I told her I would not pay that and she said that I couldn't have my appt. then, so I packed everything up and left. Well, now we have an appt. at 2:30 at another doctor that my sil used to go to when she was younger. I called and left a message for the office manager as to what happened. I'm sure they really don't care. I hope this dr. today works out and finds out what is wrong with Zack.

amynicole21 replied: AAAAAAARRRRGH!! How frustrating mad.gif I hope that woman gets fired. I might even follow up with a written account of the complaint, just to make sure it gets to the right people. That is horrible customer service.

Not that it matters now, but when we switched insurance at the beginning of the year, I had to pay out of pocket for some things because we didn't have the new cards in yet. I could always submit for reimbursment afterwards. A pain, but at least I got the money back.

I hope the new doc works out and that you find out what is bothering Zack. Hope he is feeling better soon. I hope it isn't an ear infection... Ashley used to pull on her ears when she was teething. I always thought she was getting an ear infection but it turned out just to be teething.

ediep replied: Oh man, that nurse is horrible!! You should definately put that in writing and send it to them. Even if it is just to let them know that you haev chosen another practice because of her rudeness.

I remember that you live pretty close to me.....Jason's ped has an office in Lakewood and we really love them!!!!! There are 5 doctors in the practice and 4 of them are great!! I am not too fond of one. If you would be interested in finding out about them, let me now.

dolfinrse replied: Well, we are back from the second dr. and it turns out that Zack's left ear is a little cloudy, not a full ear infection, and all four molars are coming in at once. The dr. said he didn't think that it was the ear keeping him up, so we pretty much have to wait it out. dry.gif

Thanks for the offer. The second dr that we went to today was in Lakewood and he seems pretty good. The office is called Lakewood Pediatrics right by Kimball Hospital

we go to Allergy and Pediatric Specialists. We usually go to the Freehold office but we have gone to Lakewood before. I am glad it worked out!! Those molars are terrible!!!!
