Hillbilly Housewife replied: WTH for sure!!!

Crystalina replied:
Oh now come on Rocky! Are you saying you'd never throw a cobra down to play with your baby? emlaugh.gif

PrairieMom replied:
unsure.gif
aw crap. Thats what my kids are doing right now! is that wrong? unsure.gif I hope the pet shop will take returns! those things aint cheap!

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Nah, I'm more of a croc-lover. tongue.gif

Twelve Volt Man replied: I don't quite understand how they have managed to populate their country to over a billion people. With that kind of stupidity, I would've thought they'd keep their numbers lower by killing themselves off.

Crystalina replied:
I think they're working on that. happy.gif

mummy2girls replied: why not throw your child in a lions den! GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!

mckayleesmom replied: Oh..we love our Cobra.....its out swimming with the kids and the shark in the pool right now...I hope they don't wake the allegator up from his nap.

sparkys2boys replied: ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif OMG.. OMG.. OMG.. is that snake biting the baby every time it hits agaisnt it?? WTH, I can't imagine.

On a side note.. so what you all are saying is that our pet lion is not a good idea?? He's so cute when the boys are hand feeding him fresh meat wacko.gif wacko.gif

grapfruit replied:
Ok, I have to speak up here. My uncle is from India (New Dehli) and he was the head cardiologist at a big hospital in the New York City area. He is VERY smart, as are my cousins and most of the rest of his family on that side. Actually one of his nieces is a big singer over there.

So just like here in the US there are REALLY stupid ppl that make the rest of us look bad. Don't judge an entire country by the stupidity of a few. After all, imagine what the world things of us when they look at our online news... rolleyes.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OMG that has got to be the most INSANE thing I have ever seen in my life!!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif My heart was RACING how you can let a snake bite your child over and over like that.. I imagine that it has had its venom removed but OMG

grapfruit replied: Hmmm....from a person on a message board about the video:

I lived in India for two years as a kid. This is an odd rite of passage. The snake’s mouth is sewn shut and the teeth are removed. There is no danger except I suppose if the snake hit him in the eye and bruised it or something. Cobras are common there, and he may have been from a charmer family.

I don't know, maybe another perspective?

Calimama replied:
That's a little more soothing to know!

Celestrina replied:
Yes, the child is not in any danger (thankfully). On the other hand an animal is being tortured by having its teeth removed and its mouth sewn shut, guaranteeing a slow death. Even if the mouth was undone, without its teeth it is unable to hunt or even eat.

Crystalina replied: If it's true and the mouth is sewn shut then what is the point? I mean, don't get me wrong, for that baby's sake I would hope that is the case. But why???? Just to see a baby get lunged at by a cobra? Oooh! What joy in that. rolleyes.gif I'm just saying what is the purpose to this?

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I'd have to agree. I'm a meat eater and I'm certainly not a member of PETA, but I am an animal lover and do not care for this kind of cruelty, personally...even if it is a deadly cobra.

I find it all odd. wacko.gif And for crying out loud, get something on that child's rear end! laugh.gif But, I suppose over there that kind of thing is culturally normal. It's just not ever day you see a bottom naked child playing with a cobra. laugh.gif

Celestrina replied:
Fortunately there are some groups against animal cruelty going around to different villages to let them know the "charmers" actually pull the fangs so the cobras can't bite. After they were made aware of what was going on, they forced the charmers out of town.

Crystalina replied:
I can understand pulling the teeth. That can be done in a humane way although I doubt they use those methods. dry.gif

PrairieMom replied: How do you get he job of "cobra fang puller"? talk about a hazardous job!
Could you imagine a kid bringing his father to school on career day?
"this is my dad... He is a cobra fang puller" laugh.gif

Crystalina replied:
Dad will be just a head in a chair because his body had to be amputated. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif
