Yes, he can catch it. He couldve already gotten it from you, its sometimes contagious before you have a big sore/fever blister. Were you recently sick, or do you feel like you are coming down with anything?

yeap gotten those before and so has my dh and we have passed around a few they suck but will go away if they bother you too bad then i suggest seeing a doctor they can give you something that would probably clear it right up!!
7thHeaven replied: Sounds like cold sores. When we get them we use this stuff called Lyzine(sp?), you can find it at Wal-mart or any drugstore.
Bee_Kay replied: I break out with cold sores a couple times a year on the corner of my lips, so I've tried a few different things.
I've used 2 different things that seems to work.
The first is called ABREVA. It works pretty well, it's about 12 dollars or so.
The other (which is newer) is called RELEEV. It's fairly expensive (about 20 dollars) but it works great.
Both can be found at stores like Kmart or Walmart.

Yes, i am just getting over a cold, and I was really stressed out from all the job stuff we had going on. Also, with moving TOMORROW, and it just showed up this morning.
I have used ABREEVA before and it does work great, but HOW NASTY would that be on my lip ... lol, its like white and gross looking. I am such a NERD. But I guess I don't really go out THAT much now a days, its too hot here!
Thanks Guys for filling me in about my HERPES VIRUS, I have NEVER gotten one on my lip before, just normally on the side of my mouth ... YUCK!

BabyOwen427 replied: Also, your baby won't be born with the herpes virus, however, if you kiss her when you have an outbreak (cold sores) then you can pass it to your baby. It will be hard, but don't kiss your baby, or put the pacifier in your mouth when you have the sores. And if you have any cuts, make sure noone touches your blood without gloves, or they can get it too. It can be passed through your blood.
I know this is gross.
My mom has the herpes virus, and she was very careful and all her children have grown up and not gotten it.

Apparently, I'm a carrier... but non of my ex boyfriends have ever gotten one from me, neither has dh, neither have my kids, and I don't remember the last time I had one... I think I was still of age where I was sneaking my grandmother's lipstick... so probably about 10 years ago?
But when my mom gets one she blames ME.
