Update - Megan's doc appointment for her neck
coasterqueen wrote: It is her lymph nodes swollen on her neck. There were 4 or 5 places that were big and swollen. Very strange. The doc said right now they are in "safe" places and not too big so we just have to monitor them. He did have a chest x-ray done, because if there are nodes swollen in her chest we have a problem. He assured me not to worry until we get those results back and just to monitor the size and places they are at now. I was kind of shocked because we only noticed one knot so when he said she had several I kind of freaked out for a moment.
Also her urine test came back a little "odd" he said and so now she has to have two sonos done on Friday and depending on what those say they we'll go get some cathiter test done where they shoot blue dye in her urinary tract. Not sure, but hopefully we won't have to go there.
Also he scheduled her to see the ENT regarding her adenoids, snoring, breathing through mouth, etc. We didn't get in until April, but are on a cancellation list so hopefully we get in sooner for that.
On a good note, she is now up to 27 pounds (with clothes and diaper on). YIPPEE!!!! My little pooka may just get out of 18 months/24 months clothes some day.

jcc64 replied: Try not to worry too much, Karen. We all freak out with swollen nodes- it's probably one of the most common parental anxieties. But swollen nodes can be caused by soooo many things, most of them completely benign. Noah had swollen nodes for 2 yrs when he was Megan's age- probably a result of so many ear infections, but they used to freak me out b/c they were so, well, visible. I think it's great that your dr is willing to run the tests, which he probably already knows will come back fine, but for everyone's sanity, it's great he's doing them anyway. KUP, and congrats on the growth spurt. Send some Corey's way, please!
sparkys2boys replied: Try to not worry to much til you have all the tests down and hopefully it will be nothing KUP

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm sure it is nothing, but I'm crossing my fingers the chest xrays come back okay.
MommyToAshley replied: I agree... swollen lymph nodes can be anything. I get a cold and get swollen lymph nodes. And, you said she had an ear infection... I am willing to bet that is the source.
Keep us posted.
Jamison'smama replied: Sorry you are going through all of this, I agree with Jeanne, swollen nodes seem to be more common than I realized. Glad you got some good news. Way to grow Megan!
coasterqueen replied: I would not worry either is Megan was sick. She has not had an ear infection. She's not sick now nor does she have a cold. She had a soar throat recently, but that was weeks before the swollen nodes. I do, after talking with the doc believe they are ok so I'm not as concerned, but he too mentioned it was very odd for her to have swollen nodes with no sickness. That is why he ordered the x-ray. If she was sick when I found the knot I would have chalked it up to being because of the sickness as well.
mummy2girls replied: Jenna has this problem so she had the adenoids removed and tonisls and because that still didnt help she needs a suregry on her nose... Hopefully she will not need surgery
(((HUGS))) ill be praying for you guys!
