Update on Hanna - dcp situation
My2Beauties wrote: Well Brian worked 2nd shift again yesterday and didn't get home 'til nearly midnight so we didn't talk much. He's working 1st today and will probably beat me home today so I told him that we need to set aside time to talk about this daycare issue. He said that is fine, so he is willing to listen to my ideas. I am going to suggest 3 days a week at daycare at first so it doesn't freak everyone out, and 2 days with grandma. I think this will fly. Then come Fall when she gets ready to turn 3 I want her to start going full time, the 3 and 4 yr olds get to go on fieldtrips and stuff all the time so I don't want her to miss out on any of that. I think that grandma will be ok with this arrangement for now, I know she is tired. I am going to suggest she keep Hanna on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Tuesdays are usually a late night at work for me, so that works out well. I wouldn't have to worry about getting her out of daycare by 5:30. I just hope that no one has hard feelings over all of this, but the place has openings now, so within the next 2 weeks I wanna get this on the ball. She woke up with a fever of 103 today, other than that she says she feels ok, so I gave her some Motrin and told her to keep an eye on her and she ends up calling me and saying well we're gonna go down Sandra's today, which is about 30 miles up in the country. Stuff like that bothers me, here she is sick and I have to worry about them taking her somewhere else where she'll do nothing but play outside, get filthy dirty and she'll be exposed to even more germs today by all those animals and all those other kids down there. She shouldn't be around those other kids. I almost stayed home from work, I knew I should have Her fever has broken since then but still.... She told me this morning that I probably gave her a cold from washing her hair too much That is justh ow she is, and that does that give you an idea of how well they care for themselves??? She also said that earlier she gave her a drink of Pepsi so now she seems to be feeling better I am pulling my hair out guys!
So wish me luck tonight as we're gonna have "the talk" OH yeah and finally I think that Hanna is ok with the lice thing. I washed her hair with that stuff and haven't seen anything else. I just wonder if they aren't cleaning everything down there like they say they are I hate this!
Kaitlin'smom replied: sounds like a great idea LeaAnn, I started Kait out part time 5 days a week and I am thinking maybe in fall enrolling her full time. I dont have all the issues you do but I do have a few. My hardest thing is its so close to work and saves on gas not having to drive and extra 1/2 hour a day. Personally if anyone has an issue with it than so be it you need to be concerned with Hanna's well being not there feelings.
ediep replied: I am sure that Hanna will love preschool/daycare so much! Good luck with the talk
Brias3 replied: Wow! That actually sounds like the perfect solution, LeaAnn. Going "cold turkey" on the grandparents will only cause more distress in the current situation so easing Hanna into a center would probably be easiest on everyone involved. I know you do still need to put up with a certain amount of issues so to you on that! I know it must be hard.
Glad her lice situation is cleared up too. Poor baby Speaking of Hanna, how is her bathroom issues going? Hope smoothly
kimberley replied: sounds like a good plan. good luck with your talk and hope Hanna survived the trip and feels better soon.
My2Beauties replied: She is doing a lot better. She still has the occassional I don't wanna go poo poo and the softener definitely works believe me because while saying she didn't wanna go, she went! NOt fun to clean out of underwear, but hey now she realizes that she just can't hold it in anymore and she goes. It's better. I actually had to stop giving it to her for two days because it got so runny, I am going to start her back up this evening and lower the dosage. But it's working - sorry if TMI!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I think that is a FANTASTIC idea, LeaAnn! Oh gosh...you are dealing with so much. I'm so sorry. Good luck tonight, hun.
3_call_me_mama replied: Good luck and hope your talk goes well. One thing to keep in mind.. when you put your kid in daycare, you usually cant' brin gthem when they are sick or runnign a fever over 99 degrees. (At least that's teh law here) So one downside of not having family watching her is possibly more time off required on you and brian's part. But IMO it's worht teh trade to get her in a better environment adn saving Grandma for emergencies and special occasions. (MAybe she'll take those sick days for ya !)
My2Beauties replied: Oh yeah it's the same here, grandma would definitely keep her on sick days so that I didn't have to. Normally Hanna doesn't really run fevers or get sick, aside from a slight runny nose due to allergies. Knock on wood!
Brias3 replied: Not TMI at all! I'm glad to hear that situation is going better for you and her Hoping the rest clears up soon too!
C&K*s Mommie replied: Keep us updated on how the "talk" goes, and how well Hanna adjusts to the new daycare. Wishing you the best!
1lilpeanut2love replied: Good luck!! I am hoping that everything works out for the best for both of you!!
