Update on Tater (Ethan)
Maddie&EthansMom wrote: He is still pretty sick and MAJOR whiney. He looks just terrible, too. He had fever last night, but hasn't had any today. He still isn't eating much...not near as much as he is used to eating. He cries pretty much constantly, but is sleeping good (thank GOD!)
Tonight he was crying and I noticed one of his bottom teeth has come in all the way...it was one that just broke thru last week. Something led me to look at his molars. ALL FOUR MOLARS ARE COMING IN AT ONE TIME!!! How could I be so stupid? The top 2 are in...I can feel a tiny bit of them. The bottom 2 are very swollen.
I know he is sick...he has a horrible cough, but the fever and vomiting could be attributed to the molars, right? It was just so odd for him to throw up like that. Although all of a sudden I'm feeling pretty nauseous.
Anyway, thought I'd post an update on my sweetie. Thanks for all the get well vibes.
A&A'smommy replied: OMG I can't believe poor baby has that many teeht coming in its no wonder he is miserable!!! I Don't feel bad Amiee I have done that too... four molars ugh I can't amagine what he is going through ((((((BIG HUGS))))) I hope they hurry up and stop bothering him!!!
mammag replied: Poor little fellow! Hope he's all better soon. Ouchy on the teeth.
Hope you don't pick up the stomach bug!
MommyToAshley replied: He's sick and teething on top of it .... Poor Ethan!
I am glad the fever is down and he is sleeping better. I hope he is feeling better and back to his old self again soon.
I know that Ashley would get a little warm when teething, but I don't know if teething can cause vomiting?
coasterqueen replied: Poor little guy. Those toofers hurt! Hope he is doing even better today.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Poor Ethan!! It's miserable enough to be sick without all those teeth coming in on top of it! I hope he's feeling better soon!
jdkjd replied: Congrats on the teeth but I'm so sorry he's not feeling well! Here is a big KISS and hug from Kiera...
5littleladies replied: Oh poor little guy!!! I have no idea if teething can cause vomiting. I hope whatever it is that is making him sick goes away soon.
jcc64 replied: I'm sorry Aimee, I must have been absent when you originally posted about Ethan. I'm sorry he's been ill. I guess I'm one of those people who don't pay much attention to what's going on in my kids' mouths. I suppose it's possible that teething can cause a mild. low grade fever, but I've really never heard of a connection with vomitting. Is it possible he caught a gastro-intestinal virus, and it's being exacerbated by the teething? In any event, I hope you both get past this quickly. BTW, Aimee, when my kids vomit, or are just nauseous, I always share a sympathetic stomach ache.
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww poor thing I hope he feels better soon
My2Beauties replied: Poor Tater! Y ou know everytime Hanna had a new tooth come in she got a bad sinus infection or something. Now the vomiting I would guess has no connection to the teeth, but jeanne is right could it be that he is crying so much from the pain in his teeth that it is causing him to vomit more? I know when Hanna cries really hard, even when she isn't sick, she can make herself gag and eventually throw up !! Just a thought! Hope he feels better soon, poor baby
DansMom replied: Daniel always gets sick when he's teeth are coming in, always. The connection may be that teething puts stress on your system and you're more vulnerable to viruses. Also, when he's teething and when he's congested, he swallows a lot of mucus and saliva and that alone will sometimes cause him to upchuck. All four molars at once!? How fun!
ian'smommy replied: I agree with this... Ian has thrown up before just from being congested. Swallowing too much "junk" can upset tummies. Ian's doctor told me that. If he is congested (nose stuffed) get one of those little sucker things and get as much out of his nose as possible... Coughing up stuff won't do a lot of good, he would be bound to swallow it and that can upset a tummy too, but at least what's in his nose will be taken care of a little...
