Update on livingroom decor
coasterqueen wrote: Well here are pictures of our "work in progress". I have a ton of pics on the shelves right now, but I plan to take some away and put more trinkets up as I find them. Right now I put some candle holders I had around the house up there. So that's all stuff I need to really do. Ryan decided he would try to find something to go up on the very top of the shelves and something above the tv. This is what he liked and was proud that he found something. I like it, but not sure I LOVE the clock. I dunno. Sometimes it takes a long time for me to fall in love with some things. I think it looks better, more "wow" in person, than it does looking at these pics. SO, please give me your HONEST opinions. I despise decorating.
Disregard the MESS in these pics like my carpet cleaner, etc, etc. I was too tired last night when I finally got home and got some pics taken. I took pics of the whole livingroom since it's hard to get it in one. Behind the couches is like a pathway sort to go to the other areas of the house and the deck. Oh and don't mind the balance beam behind the couch.
coasterqueen replied: BTW, I know the clock isn't centered, Ryan is going to fix that tonight. He was too tired yesterday. For some reason the clock is bothering me, maybe that's what it is. I dunno.
coasterqueen replied: Oh PLEASE excuse the mess.
coasterqueen replied: Sorry for all the pics, hard to get the whole room, doorways and all in one pic.
coasterqueen replied: last one Please excuse the husband, it's late at night, he's being a bum.
CantWait replied: It looks great. And as for the clock being centred, I think all you'd need to do is move the tv stand over a smidgen instead of the clock.
coasterqueen replied: Oh Marie, don't you tell my husband you said that! That's what he said. If you did that, though, you'd have to move the shelves, too, so everything is just where it should be. Moving clock is easier, I think. Only prob is we don't have that color paint anymore to patch holes, so he doesn't want to make anymore holes, BUT he has other holes to patch, so he just needs to go get the paint!.
julesmom replied: I agree.
I think it looks great. Looks very warm and cozy.
CantWait replied: WHAT? REALLY? I mean literally it would be just like half an inch or something.....
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: looks awesome! I was thinking the same thing Marie said about moving the tv over a tad. LOL .......... o.O
Boys r us replied: It looks great..but the interior decorator is coming out in me..so I'm going to be honest..I think it needs a splash of color! An easy fix for that would be to change out the curtains for perhaps a very light ice blue or a sage green or a deep red. I think those colors would look awesome with the tones you have in there!
grapfruit replied: Maybe throw pillows too, or a rug (or both!) But I LOVE that clock!
OH and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3M picture hangers or whatever they are. They work really great and no holes in the wall!!! (of course more expensive then nails)
Our Lil' Family replied: Very nice Karen!!!!! I like it alot! I'm thinking of doing something similar in my den....we'll see.
coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone!!! I like the idea of a rug, but with two dogs and two cats and how they track everything in and puke on everything I hate to have to worry about a rug, too. It's bad enough the carpet looks terrible. I love the idea of the curtain change, but will have to convince Ryan of that. Right now the cats have snagged my curtains so bad as it is I'm sure it would be a waste of money to buy more at the moment.
