Update on my little Holly!! - US yesterday!

Heather wrote: Hey everyone! This little lady is stubborn I do have to say. Alison was determined to come out very early, but Holly has decided she likes it in my belly. She parties way too much in there, so that might be the case...lol! We had our growth ultrasound yesterday. She is measuring right on...my doc thought she might be a little small but she is perfect!! They guess she weighs about 6lbs, 4oz right now. I thought that was huge but doc said, it was average for her GA. Doc also said that I probably won't have any problems delivering vaginally. If I start to have a hard time then we will go with the C-section. So, I am going to chat it up with my OB tomorrow and see what he says! He might just induce me a little earlier so Holly will be smaller. I am hoping my Femoral Neuropathy doesn't return but I really want a vaginal birth again. I am actually scared of a C-section.

So that is about it. 4 more weeks to go! Time has flown by so fast. I just cant' believe it!!!

amynicole21 replied: Yay!! Got to love a healthy little one wub.gif Just my 2cents.gif and I don't know all of the details, but I'd try to avoid an induction if possible. Mine was horrible, and most of the people I've talked to who had one hated it as well. Did you have a C with Alison? Keeping my fingers crossed that you can have a quick, safe and painless (yea right!) delivery!!

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif Congratulations on everything being well!! Holly sounds perfect, weight wise. Good luck to you, and I hope you have a very safe and uncomplicated vaginal delivery!!!

kimberley replied: congrats on the good appt! wow, i can't believe how soon Holly will be here! you must be so excited! i agree with Amy, avoid the induction if you can. my experience was equally horrible and that one intervention led to a bunch more. i had no control over what happened in my delivery and if i could things differently, i wouldn't have done it. try natural induction methods first if you need to delivery earlier wink.gif

fingers crossed for a wonderful birthing experience!

alice&arik replied: Congrats on a healthy Holly! thumb.gif

My induction was awful. If I could do it over, I would have waited to go naturally. But I was a week over and Arik was 8lbs 1/2 oz when he was born so he would have been too big.

I hope you have a great delivery!! thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied: Sounds like she's doing well! You gotta watch those "partiers" they can be spirited children when they finally come out. rolling_smile.gif

I say if you can hold out and not get an induction do so. I'm with Amy, mine was HORRIBLE and most people I've heard from said the same thing. I'm going to try sooooo hard not to do that again. C-sections are really that bad *if* needed wink.gif.

Good luck and keep us posted!

momof2girls replied: I had one induction which was not sooo bad! But I did have to have an er c section
with the second I had to have a c section too!

Good Luck to you!
cant wait to see pic's of the new baby

Kaitlin'smom replied: sounds like she is doing great in there smile.gif

I am will others hold out if you can and advoid induction, all I have hear were horror stories. I had to have an emergency c-section....it was not bad just was not prepaird for the recovery, had no idea what to expect sad.gif Sure I woul dhave loved to go natural and feel I missed out on something but if I had the same suitation I woul dhave gone the section again, would not want to risk the heath of my baby.

Best of luck and easy labor vibes to you when the time is right smile.gif

DansMom replied: It's great to hear an update---I can't believe how close things are getting for you! A friend of mine had her second baby in 4.5 hours from start to finish (after a 2 day labor with the first baby). I hope like with so many mommies that your second is easier too. Can't wait to see pics!!

jem0622 replied: ITA on avoiding induction. I was induced with two of my three and it stunk the big goose egg. The first time I went along quickly, but the contrax were hard. The second time it slowed things down! Gabe was easy to pop out, but the clots afterwards were evil. Worse than labor and I was unmedicated with him!

If your doctor is willing to go vaginal then give it a go. A c-sec is always a good contingency for anyone in the event that things aren't going so well for mom or baby.

I have never had a c-sec but have to swallow the hard reality that it isn't in my hands. These babies may be breech, or may have to come early, or there is always the risk that one comes vaginally and the other c-sec. I'd rather just have a c-sec with both if that is the case. We'll see.

You are in the home stretch! Yahoo! I would have delivered my angel baby tomorrow. A little melancholy. But grateful for these twin blessings in my belly.

mummy2girls replied: I have to agree with everyone one else on the induction...i had 2 of them and man both were horrible and so painful! But with my situation i didnt have a choice as i was developing PIH.

Congrats on the healthy baby! wub.gif

A&A'smommy replied: YAY 36 wks your SO close!! Everything sounds great I had a c-section and it wasn't fun but it was well worth it. I was also induced and THAT sucked it made the contactions horrible almost unbearable BUT I am also a BIG baby when it comes to any amount of pain! I bet she will come on her own, did Ally come on her own?

Congratulations on being so close and having a VERY healthy baby wub.gif

CantWait replied: thumb.gif Sounds great!!!!! I rather hope you delivery 2 days later so Holly can share her birthday with Anthony smile.gif wub.gif

paradisemommy replied: woo hoo..thanks for the update and i love your belly pic!! i don't have any advice to add - i had to have a c-section cause i wouldn't dilate at all but just wanted to say..i'm so excited for you and can't wait to see pics and hear about her birth!!! wub.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: wub.gif Awwww sounds like everything is going well for you. I so miss being pregnant and feeling all those little kicks and turns. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and hoping that you will be able to have a vaginal delivery. thumb.gif

Elle replied: Whoa, 36 weeks, you're almost there! smile.gif

I agree with the ladies, avoid induced labour if you can... The most painful of my 3 deliveries was the induced one, seriously not good. But I was a week late, and so uncomfortable that I practically begged the OB to induce me LOL
