Update on my mom

kit_kats_mom wrote: She's doing great! Her cancer markers are down from a high of around 800 to 11 which is awesome. She's gained back all of the weight she'd lost, she's energetic and she looks & acts like she's healthy again.

Her hair is coming in a lovely shade of silver and it looks like she's got a short crew cut. However, at family dinner on Sunday, she took her scarf off and the hair in the back was standing up on end. We all applauded that her hair is "long enough to mess up again"

Her last chemo treatment is on Friday and then they are going to discuss her options. Since she's been responding so well to chemo and has had very few side effects, her dr is reccomending a small weekly dose of chemo to keep the cancer from coming back. I'm not sure what she's going to decide to do yet but I'm sure she will make the right decision for her.

I just realized that I'd not updated you guys lately so I figured I'd do so. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers

My2Beauties replied: Cary I must say, after meeting your mom in Tallahassee, she did not look like a cancer patient at all, she is absolutely beautiful and healthy looking. Carrie Ann and I were discussing how beautiful she looked. I am so glad to hear she is doing well, she is the sweetest women! She is so friendly and energetic and full of life, you can tell. I'm so glad to hear things are going well.

It sounds like she is doing remarkable (From 800 to 11, wow!), but I don't really understand the marker numbers.

I'm thrilled for you, for her, for the girls- how very lucky you all are! I am also sure that her positive outlook did her as much good as any chemo could.
