WOW - today has gone surprisingly well

went down for our nap around 12 until 2:30 then had lunch and she has been exceptionally well.
It may be a fluke but she is a different kid today!! She is listening a lot better, and she is actually playing by herself right now which is something she NEVER seems to do unless it is late at night!!
THANKS for the advice ladies. We did have some crying at nap time .. but I was DETERMINED to make her nap, so it wasn't too bad. She cried for about 10 minutes.
PrairieMom replied: keep it up! I LIVE by schedule.
moped replied: Can I ask - lunch at 2 seems late to me if you are going to try an earlier bedtime???
Calimama replied: How did the actual bed time (not nap time) go? That was fast! I'm glad it's working so well.
luvmykids replied: I was going to ask too....I'd suggest lunch before the nap, a snack after, and a dinner between 5-6 depending on your goal for bedtime. Glad you're making progress!
Mommy2Isabella replied: I do lunch after her nap because she won't eat breakfast when she first wakes up.
Even if I offer it to her, she will just sit there, so she doesn't eat breakfast until about 9:30 sometimes 10. So to have lunch RIGHT after that seems odd to me.
We did dinner tonight at 6:30 and then we played with dad for a bit and then we took a bath and cleaned up her room and got ready for bed and read a story.
She was in bed by 8pm. Didnt even cry ... so needless to say it has been GREAT. We did have a SMALL issue with story time, she kept trying to turn the pages when we weren't finished reading them so we didn't finish the story because she started to throw a fit, so I told her goodnight kissed her told her I loved her and put her in her bed, and it seems thats just what she needed because I haven't heard a PEEP from her since

ediep replied: well, getting her to bed earlier may cause her to wake up earlier,,,, then you can offer breakfast earlier and then try lunch before nap, snack after, and dinner between 5-6...... that may be the way it will work out
Thats the schedule my kids were one, well, Emma still is but she needs a small nap after breakfast as well. e long nap is after lunch, she has dinner between 5-6 and goes down for the night by 7-7:30
Mommy2Isabella replied: Even with the schedule she was on yesterday she still woke up at 8:45 this morning. I have tried giving her breakfast but she isn't interested.
She started getting tired around 6:45 when she was playing with Sal and we went up and took a bath at about 7:15. THen of course her room was a mess because she dumped her blocks out .. so we picked those up and read a story and when all was said and done it was around 8:15!
I think what we did yesterday worked GREAT, as far as doing dinner at 5, we can't Sal isn't even home yet most of the time. It works best for us to do dinner between 6 - 6:30. Not to mention I want her to have time with him before bed. so a 7:15 bedtime is a NO WAY as well.
If she doesn't get time with Sal the next day she is a NIGHTMARE constantly asking for him and banging on the door yelling DADA ... I just can't do that to her!!
So .. we will see how today goes!!
Our Lil' Family replied: So did she wake up at 10:30 last night?
Mommy2Isabella replied: OH ... I forgot to mention that ... LOL Yes she did ... she woke up and cried for a few minutes, and I walked in and just asked her what was wrong, and told her it was time for bed. Sal gave her a hug and a kiss, and she layed back down and went to sleep.
* I think she woke up because she heard he was home, he wasn't home when I put her down. It seemed that all she wanted was for him to give her a hug and kiss and tell her goodnight!! *
Boo&BugsMom replied: Neither of the boys like to eat as soon as they get up either. They usually sleep from 7am-7pm. Breakfast about 8, so they wake up a bit first. Lunch at noon usually, then nap (well, Tanner doesn't nap anymore now he's in school, but Aiden does). A small snack in the afternoon, then dinner.
Sounds like she's doing great!
