WWYD? - I'm totally mortified!
PrairieMom wrote: Today i dropped the boy off at the baby sitters. They have a BRAND new house, they haven't even closed on it yet. They were having the plumbing finished up and cable installed when I got there. Well, he was wearing underwear, and had an accident on their new carpet. Okay, she said don't worry aobut it, but if it had happened to me I would be livid. so, I would like to make it up to her somehow. What would you do in my shoes?
ashtonsmama replied: Oops! Yeah, I'd be a little embarassed, but she doesn't sound too worried about it...that's good. But there's not much you can do, other than buying them all new carpet, and I doubt you want to do that! Maybe buy them a new pretty rug (but not too expensive)? Or offer to help clean the carpet? Not sure. She probably has it taken care of by now...and I wouldn't stress.
boyohboyohboy replied: I am sure she understands, and love the boy, since she is the babysitter and she has forgotten all about it now.. But maybe a really nice house warming gift?
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: A bottle of Resolve and maybe flowers or something. honestly I think anyone that has kids even near their house needs a spot cleaner.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I think that's a great idea!
Cece00 replied: I wouldnt be that mad if that happened- it was an accident. I'd clean it up & move on...I dont know that you really need to give/send her anything. But hey- who doesnt like flowers?
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Flowers sounds like a nice idea
I think that she understands it was just an accident and being a baby sitter I am sure she expects things to happen to her new rugs. I'd feel a little crappy about it too, I feel bad when Alex pees on my Dads floors and they have seen better days.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Exactly what I was going to say.
siblingtooolivia replied: Yeah a nice bunch of flowers and a bottle of resolve, she will get a chuckle out of it, but I agree, since she is a babysitter, I would imagine she will expect accidents and honestly how much could one 3 year old pee????
coasterqueen replied: I like Lisa's idea. That way she gets some beautiful flowers and can get a chuckle out of the carpet cleaner...and some good use
PrairieMom replied: Thats a good idea guys. I think I will do that.
MommyToAshley replied: Ooops.
Maybe offer to have the carpet in that room cleaned?
lisar replied: well I wokr with brand new homes and if she really wanted to she could have them clean the carpet for her. All she has to do is saything like I would like to have the carpets thurly cleaned before I close. But she might not want that. Sorry I am no help either.
