moped replied: where is that shelly - what area? We are getting one in Airdrie which is actually quite close to me if I go the turkey trail!!!!!
A&A'smommy replied: heck yeah!!!
luvmykids replied: They're putting one in right by me Don't get me wrong....gotta love WalMart but I moved to the country for a reason
mummy2girls replied: its on the west end of edmonton. off of stony plain road. and 184 street i believe...
moped replied: OH yeah I kind of know where that is - have you been yet??
mummy2girls replied: yes i went and checked it out yesterday evening! LOVE IT!
moped replied: When I was in Montana at the Super one we were there for 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Calimama replied: Congrats!
NaturalMom replied: in my opinion STAY AWAY FROM THE MEATS AND PRODUCE!!! I have NEVER gotten good meat or produce there. I will starve before i buy any of that there again. The produce is always bad. never fresh. The banana's are always terrible! The meat is way overpriced in comparison to other grocery stores and even the butchers. The ground beef always has hard pieces of bone in it. OH man its just garbage. I just wanted to warn ya! lol i will only buy dry goods there. the quality is so not worth the convenience :-)
PrairieMom replied: I rarely have problems with the quality of the produce, except for fish. I have bought bad salmon there more than once. I suppose it depends on how busy the store is, as to the turn over rate of the foods. I do agree tho that the meat and veggis at my traditional grocery store are better.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I love my one-stop shopping! We have one on just about every corner in this town. Also SuperTarget! Woo hoo!
ETA: I have to agree that their produce is yucky IMO. As for meats, I'll buy chicken there and ground turkey, but that's about it. They are great for boxed/canned goods, cereals, snacks, diapers, toilet paper, things like that. I like to go organic with produce if I can and our Walmart has a very small section that is not fresh at all. But I just think it depends on the store.
mom2patrick&jalin replied: I love our Super Wal-Mart and have never had any trouble with the meat or produce!!
Kentuckychick replied: I was just about to say the same thing! We have bought raunchy meat and poultry from there on more than one occasion... then we just stopped buying those items from there altogether.
I don't know much about their produce, but we always buy our meat from our local grocery store.
They do have some good deals from time to time on drinks (they have great prices on my gatorade ) and on chips/frozen foods/etc... though so sometimes it's worth it.
For me though, I'd rather save myself the sanity and drive to the grocery store, Target and a department store then visit the Wally World
NaturalMom replied: i agree. i dred going to walmart. have you ever looked around and seen the looks on people's faces??! everyone is miserable looking. no one is ever happy. especially the employees. and why should they? they are paid terribly. The whole energy of the store is negative to me. I just run through there, grab my dry goods and toiletries and dip! A lot of time ill go to target and pay a bit more just cuz the atmosphere is so much better. people there are happy and friendly. no one is coughing there lungs out or smell of bad BO. lol can you tell i dispise walmart. When we started to look for places to move we actually were looking for places that did not have a superwalmart. but seems like that is impossible to find.
