Was anyone elses husband - as stubborn about names as mine?

MomToMany replied: Luckily Kayla was a girl, or we would've had a real battle here! He's a HUGE Monster Garage fan ( ), and wanted to name our boy Jesse James. Uh, NO WAY!!! I think (and hope) he was kidding; he said he likes to get me going sometimes, LOL.
We settled on the boys name Dylan James, but we got our beautiful Kayla Marie instead .
TANNER'S MOM replied: My husband and I fought about names bad. Tanner wasn't named until we were on the way to the hospital. It was awful. The first name I had picked out was Elijah James. Randy's Dad is James and so is mine. BUt they hated it. Randy and I like the name but his family did not. SO we were up in arms about it.
For a girl I had picked Gracelyn Caroline... My aunt Caroline had just passed and I wanted to name her that....well he hated that and we changed it to Ashlyn Caroline Grace.... But we had a boy
Then on the way to the hospital for my induction, I opened the boys names and was reading out loud and when I said Tanner he said what was that..I like that. And I did too! And then he said what middle name I hate James.... So I said Lane..like Lane Frost..he said that is perfect but spell it different so we did..
Tanner Layne.....well durning my delivery my husband passed out! He had a skull fracture and was hosptalized. He didn't do well. Well my dad and Randy attended my birth b/c Randy had to be watched by an adult.. my dad had to help him around and after the birth take him back to his hosptal room, I was only in labor for around 2 hrs this happened very first. Well I had Tanner( which Randy doesn't remember our son's birth, no long term memory of that day) and Randy said what's his name..I said Tanner Layne..he said and I quote Who in the hell would name there kids that..and I said you..then my dad took him away!
So yes we had trouble too.
But I have 4 kids Brittany Michelle Justin Bailey Chance Tiffany Cheyenne Tanner Layne
booey2 replied: Yup, Matthew was not named until 4-5 hours after he was born and with Thomas we never really settled on his name until I was in the delivery room.
mckayleesmom replied: I just choked on my water when I read that....LOL...."who would name their child that?"....ROTFL....
My dh did something similar with Mckaylees name....Her name was origionally suppose to be Olivia McKaylee Grace....Then I started noticing that Olivia was becoming really popular and told dh about it and he said he was thinking the same thing. So he said and I quote "why don't we name her Mckaylee Hunter Grace instead?" So I said ok....then weeks later he decided to drop Hunter out of her name. To this day..dh's dad still calls Mckaylee his little Hunter...When we found out I was pregnant dh said that he should get more say in this babys name because I completely "hijacked" the naming process and didn't consult him...HE IS SO FULL OF IT....I could tell him where he was sitting when he changed her name. MEN!!!
MomToMany replied: Oh, what a dork!! Sorry he's so full of it Brianne.
I wanted to list all my kids' names:
Logan William Quentin Theodore Ethan Andrew Hannah Rose Kayla Marie
mckayleesmom replied: Oh how I know ...lol
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Nope, we didnt' have any problems. We pretty much agree on everything and had our names picked out years before our children arrived. We had a little trouble with the spelling of one name, but ended up not needing that name (we had our Ethan instead)
mom89 replied: Yes! When I was preggers with our last one(and I think the others, too)we could never agree on anything!(finally did of course)I liked all the popular names like Tyler,Austin, etc. ugh oh and for a girl,he wanted her to be named Sara Jessica. Sara's fine but I HATE Jessica!(no offense to anyone)Jessica sounds too blah. Anyways,we finally did agree on a name,(never had another girl of course)but man did it suck! Everytime I came up with a name his response-"Oh,I don't like it" men!
jolene555 replied: Barry was the same way. We agreed on a boy's name about 4 weeks into my pregnancy - Harry David - we were so sure we were having a boy.
Yah right. The tech said she was 100% sure it was a girl. Grrrrreat. So I start looking at names - we couldn't agree on ANYTHING. So I decided to do it by meanings - maybe I could sell him on a name that way. So, since his name is Barry I looked up the meaning "bear". Only one girls name came up, so I said it out load. "Ursula - it means she bear." He loved it. Grrr . . . he didn't watch enough disney movies to know that EVERY time I heard it I thought of the big black octopus sea-witch from the little mermaid. I tried to warm up to it, but I just couldn't. I was completely in love with the name Tirzah - but he said absulutely not.
So when we went into the hospital I had it down to 12 names, and she didn't get named until she was 2 days old, when he finally let me pick one. Georgia just fit her better than the other 11. Bernadette was a compromise, since it means "brave as a bear" and it's a form of my grandpa's name (Bernard) whom she shares a birthday with. He still is upset about not getting Ursula, but then I remind him that he had complete naming rights to his son (not my son) so he can bite it.
MEN.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Luckily for us, Olivia was a girl and coming up with her name wasn't too hard for us. To this day, we cannot even agree of a list of boy names let alone come up with one to tack on a poor old boy. I did suggest, while in labor, that if she was a boy we name her after the dude that invented the epidural !!! Thankfully, they'll be no more for us so the case is closed here!
mom21kid2dogs replied: "He's a HUGE Monster Garage fan ( ), and wanted to name our boy Jesse James"
I actually was at a store once and this poor kid WAS named Jesse James. He was one of those kids that you know his name after the first 5 minutes of being in the store because his mom said it about 85 times along with those empty threats of discipline she was giving him. He acted just like Jesse James!!
A&A'smommy replied: well right after I found out I was pregnant I started writing names down when I was around 6 wks pg we picked out Alyssa's name and after the first u/s saying it was a girl I was worried it was going to be wrong so we quickly chose a name Dalton William and the next app. it was confirmed that she was a she so we had a pretty easy time in fact we already have the names picked out for our next kids
Mommy2BAK replied: Well fortuntely for us we didn't have much of a problem picking out a name. I have had the name Blakely picked out since I was 10, and I always knew I would name my little girl that. The day I got my ultrasound and found out we were having a girl John and I went to an Italian resturant where you get to write on the table cloth (white paper) with crayons. And we wrote out Blakely as choice one and Allison as choice 2 and then we just decided Blakely Allison was beautiful!
3xsthefun replied: Yeah Rob and I had a hard time finding a girl name for Maegan. He just did not really like the names I did.
