I'm so depressed DH offered to fly me and the baby out, but we really don't have the money to go without being in the same situation we were in before him going on tour.
We're on a waiting list, but I'm not expecting nothing to come of that. Oh well, maybe one day

kit_kats_mom replied: This is probably too late to be useful this year but DH and I use a credit card with frequent flier awards. We havent' paid for a flight in over 3 years and we've flown at least 3-4 times a year. We only buy things that we would buy normally (groceries, gas etc) and i deduct it all from my checking account immediately. That way when the bill comes in I just write a check for it and pay the balance each month. As long as the interest doesn't accumulate, it's a great deal!

DH is an engineer with the military, and is currently overseas on tour in Isreal. He'll be home in 15 days.

last time I checked the bus option it was still pretty pricey. It's also a 2-3 day trip, I've done 12 hours with a baby before and it was far from fun. I don't think I could handle it with a 5 month old and an 8 year old LOL
