We got a Wii!!!

DH stopped by Walmart up north the other day and the guy told him that they get shipments on Wednesdays at 11am. So he went back today, got in line at 10:45am, and GOT ONE!! They only had 10 and he was #9 in line!!
Now I feel bad it wasn't me who got one, since it's a gift for DH, but hey, he doesn't have the kids with him to tug around in the snow. I bought him the Zelda game for Wii yesterday, so he will have that to open. And my MIL just said she will go in with me on the Bose home theatre system (surround sound) for his birthday. So I'm done with all my shopping now!! Woo hoo!
MoonMama replied: WOOHOO! I'm glad you were able to get one. I had actually been keeping my eyes open for you when I was out shopping. Had I seen one I would have scooped it up for you, and worked out getting it to you. I remember how hard it was to get DH one when they first came out and he HAD to have it.
Calimama replied: Oh I'm so glad you got one!!!
bawoodsmall replied: Thank goodness dh didnt ask for one. It would kill me to get it cuz he is one of those that says he wants it, plays with it for a month..then gets bored. Glad you found one for him. I wish I was done shopping..I should prob finish up since I have 14 days left.
5littleladies replied: Glad you found one!! We have Zelda-I love it! Have fun.
amynicole21 replied: HOORAY!!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: WTG, that was so nice of the Salesperson to let him know when the shipments came in.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yeah, that's what I said. Wherever I went, the salespeople seemed annoyed that I even asked if they had any. I always got the "we don't know when we get shipments". Made me so mad. Then you get on Ebay and see photos of people with like 20!! I don't think that's fair at all.
Anthony275 replied: I knew you would get one! a good reccomendation is to get the game 'wii play,' it has things like pool, fishing, lazer hockey, etc.. and comes with an extra remote all for $50 not bad when the remote costs $40
MommyToAshley replied: HOOORAAYY!!!!
I'm glad you got one. And, your DH knows how hard you tried to get one... it doesn't matter that he picked it up. He'll be surprised with the game you bought.
By the way, I bet you are going to be surprised by how much YOU will like the Wii.
kimmylyn replied: That is soo great.. I am so glad you got one!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Good to know, because I was going to run out tomorrow and pickup an extra remote! Thanks!
Ally, thanks for thinking of me while you shopped! That's really sweet of you!
Ahhhhhhhh, I am SO relieved you guys! DH said he was starting to get worried about me by how stressed I was over this. Never thought I would be so determined to find something. I'm just so happy to not pay $450 on Ebay too!
Dee Dee, yes, I'm sorta excited to try it out myself. DH promises he will hook it up tonight when the boys are asleep.
CantWait replied: What a relief that must be. WTG Rae.
My3LilMonkeys replied: WTG! The Wii is awesome - you'll love it!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: That's wonderful, Rae!!!!
I've been keeping my eye out for you (for one in stores around here) I know how it is when you want something around the holidays and can't find it. Santa had to give Maddie an IOU last year.
Anthony275 replied: rae, buy some wii points cards so you guys can download games from the virtual store. you can use credit cards but i doubt you want to use that you may want to get another nunchuk too for certain games and stuff
have fun playing wii bowling
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yeah, DH already added a bunch of accessories to his wish list. All I can say is that those other Wii things better not be hard to find! Guess I'm not as done as I thought I was!
A&A'smommy replied: YAY
luvmykids replied: Thats how it goes here too...he can get things out of people that look at me like I'm if I ask
Glad you guys got your hands on one! Enjoy!
Cece00 replied: You def. need 2 controllers & 2 nunchchuks, couldnt hurt to have 4 of each either
Also- Zelda really was not that great of a game. Your DH might like it but my DH is a big Zelda fan & really didnt like it.
We both agree that the Wii is better for "quick play" games, like Wii Sports & Wii Play, but RPG are not as great as on other systems. JMO...maybe you should rent Zelda before deciding to keep it b/c he may not like it & they are so expensive.
Also, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend "Super Mario Galaxy". Its been one of the best Wii games we've played. We did NOT like "Super Paper Mario". We *did* like "Mario Party 8" too.
I've been trying to rent "Carnival Games" for weeks to no avail. I want to rent it before I buy it but it looks FUN.
MommyToAshley replied: As long as he's not asking for Guitar Hero III, then you should be ok (Guitar Hero III with the wireless guitar is impossible to find).
I second the recommendation for Super Mario Galaxy -- DH and Ashley play this game together all the time. And, Mario Party 8 would be a fun game for the entire family.
Happy shopping, and once again I'm glad you got one! Have fun!
Anthony275 replied: another great game is "Game Party"- its $20 and it just came out, sold out online but dude its great its like wii play but theres more things to play
stella6979 replied: Tell me about it. I called every stinkin store today within a 20 mile radius to find Guitar Hero III and finally stumbled upon GameStop. They had a few left but they aren't able to hold any so I ran up there without my morning shower or anything. LOL! With as much as DH has talked about this game, it better be worth me going out with greasy hair and two day old socks (I forgot to change them before leaving). Congrats on finding the Wii. I'm sure the whole family will enjoy that present.
Our Lil' Family replied: I played the Super Mario Galaxy game at my BF's house last month, it was definitely neat. Took some getting used to but I could easily become addicted to it! Thomas enjoyed watching me play it too!
